even changed the intake gasket for those of you thinking that might be it :) Hijacking thread again. Sorry!

I agree

Check your turbo...turbine-side oil seal (split ring) leaks smoke like that
Generally speaking, worn or non sealing rings will cause smoke more under load or decel, rather than at idle. I would probably look elsewhere for the source of your smoke.

I know this is not a Chevy Board,I have 2 Monte SS's and 1 86 Gn.I have total seal 2nd gapless in one of the SS's and it smokes like a train at idle. Down the road it is fine only at idle. I have 35,000 on the rebuild,I think it's the RINGS!!!I heard something about need a 3-5hg vaccum in the crankcase to keep the oil rings sealed:eek: When I pull the motor I will have the heads torn down and checked and if they are okay(and should be they where fresh with everything else)I will toss those rings in the trash for Hastings. I didn't use the powder to break them in either. I also heard something about the cylinder walls need a certain finish to work with Total seals. All of this is was to years ago,but she smokes and other wise runs great.

Thanks Mac, but the plugs are wet with oil. I did check the turbo just for grins and it's dry on both sides.................

DOH! You did say that. I need to read more carefully. Hope it's something easier than a rebuild for ya', Jeff.
