me and the lady have the same insurance company...how is that gunna work out?

Sometimes better, by being faster. But they may low ball you more than the others because they have to pay for both cars damage.

it doesnt look good seeing how far the turbo is twisted....dang dude.... i feel bad for you....

Obviously a severely tweaked header but the internals might still be ok.

If it makes you feel any better I'm having a miserable week too!

If you can get the car back, pull the engine and anything else valuable from the car. Try to find a roller/donor that you could transplant your stuff in to.

Man im glad u r ok holy sh$t i got hit in my daytona shelby the same way you did except i was further thru the light than you were so i was t boned. Its not about what you say its about what you can prove trust me ive beatten my fair share of traffic tix and accidents where it was assumed i was doing something wrong cause i was young before you even spend your $$$ on a lawyer you have to do your homework the best lawyer in the world cant help you if you cant prove your case.. first thing you gotta do is find your witnesses and find out what they saw plus it helps that you had a friend in the car with you but once again it may not hold as much water cause hes your friend and ur young so they will assume he will automatically side with you. but it helps..hopefully you got others that saw it happen too then you gotta get a copy of the police report to see what she said.. Did the cops write either of you a ticket? Because if you got no witnesses you will be found at fault because you were turning unless she admits the light was yellow in which case it will be 50/50 ur fault and hers im no attorney or cop but between myself and others i know personally this happened to the outcome was always the same..if you got any of these things goin for you or if you know there were traffic cams at the intersection theeen find a lawyer to get the footage and aid you in getting reports and doing lawyer stuff subponeas etc. Do your research and have your facts ans stories str8 pics numbered plus a second set numbered clearly for the judge /majistrate to look at this way you can show up at the gun fight with a bazooka instead of a knife. also KEEP YOUR COOL AND BE PROFFESSIONAL !!!! no matter how pissed you are cause people judge you based on many things at least that way youll be veiwed as a mature for your age 17 year old niot some kid that dosent know anything driving a hot rod!!!! As far as the car goes if the frame isnt bent and the body tub is ok the rest of that stuff bolts on id fix it you got a nice car there....I hope this helps ;)

First think todo is get a your insurance agent or a lawyer to see if she was on the phone when the accident happened, next check security footage from walgreens or any other place around that might have footage of the accident,
since she was driving a newer SUV her computer will have how fast she was going when she hit you if her airbags deployed. If you have put alot of money and time in it did you keep the receipts. I hope this may help you.

I like a guy's who think outside the box. Indeed, the truth will come out. Just happy your ok bud......remember, cars are replacable, your not. Hope all work out for you.

Ray

im already looking for a car to drop all my **** into...if anyone knows of any rollers out there in good shape, let me know. thanks.

Im 17...and she was the only one who said she had a green light...its like there was nobody else there, even though the street was full of cars...im shocked at how few people actually stopped to help,

Same thing happened to me this past Monday night. It was rush hour and the street was FILLED with commuters. An SUV blew the yield sign and I hit him hard. Totaled my Caddy. No one stuck around to tell the police what they saw.

It's quite a shock, and I'm sorry you have to go through it. Like someone else said, let the dust settle and take some guidance from your insurance company. They will deal with the other insurance company and try to place liability with the other driver. Do the research on the value of these cars and be prepared to fight (and have your parents help you fight) whatever ridiculously low value they offer you for the car. It's part of the game.

Good luck.

Jim

Dang man that really blows. Looks like yet another GN part out in the near future. Just make sure you buy that car back from the insurance company. You'll get a good chunk of change back from the insurance company and a good chunk of change out of that car by parting it out. Then get another one and start over. Good luck man! -----Jeremy

Wow...If that happened to my car I do beleive I would VOMIT!

Glad you're OK. Now,jump on that bitch and make sure the INS Co pays you every cent you are owed!

Note - When my 69 got totalled by the insurance co (Suburban hit me at 60 MPH while I was sitting STILL.) they were going to tow my car from the impound lot to the junkyard. I told them to have it towed to my house instead, and they let me have it back to part it our, FREE of charge. Maybe I just go lucky. I switched the whole drive train over to a 70 Skylark, and after stripping it sent it on to the yard.

Good Luck!!!

The insurance company will most likely try to defraud you. You are entitled to a rental car RIGHT NOW to replace the ride that she took from you.

One thing that got some action from me was when I told the IC that I do not want any money at all - just replace what was lost and pay the rental car bill.

They are to make you whole again. That means as you were just before the crash. It is often not possible to hit that mark so you can bet they will aim low :(

Because of the lies other drivers will tell, I am wanting to have some type of in-car camera.

Hope it all works out - do some searching about insurance claims on the board - I ahve seen some good stuff about dealing with insurance and getting them to recognize the car as a collector car and NOT a Regal.

   !!!!! Glad you and your friend walked away from that.

I'd say it done, honestly.

Ive been in your shoes. I totalled my WH-1 T-Type back in 2004. I had State Farm and they tried to lowball me. I eventually got it appraised and when it was all said and done, I got more back for the car than I paid for it; AND I kept it to part out. I parted it and didnt lose a nights sleep. I caught major hell for it, but Im better off now with a car in much better shape.

If that were me, Id have killed the lady!!!   I cant beleive some people...

If its salvagable, it'll need alot of work. Hopefully the frame isnt bent. Check the door jambs and the cowl to see if anything is shifted. Cant really see the frame from the pics. Also if the trunklid is off, that usually means the body got tweaked... Id say part it out. Even if it were fixable, its alot of work for someone your age, not to mention the money aspect. My best advice is to stand your ground and not let anyone screw you over. And definitely get a lawyer on retainer. Get what you need and only settle when YOU are satisfied. I can find the contact info of my appraiser if need be.

Keep you head up man.

kirban 2 cents worth

I confess I did not read all the details on this post, but first of course, be thankful you came out of it ok.

No where do I see mentioned you have a fixed value or an apprasial for your GN in your insurance policy. That is the key to getting the proper amount. You have the option to keeping the car at a set figure based on what the final figure is. You want to do that.

At just glancing at the photos, your car is not worth fixing whatever has been pushed up front has been more than likely twisted all the way back.

I can recommend a licensed apprasier who has won several big cases involving these cars. He has also done richard clarks massive GN collection. My email is denniskirban@yahoo.com

He will be at our open house next saturday. You need to keep this option open
unless by some chance they give you a decent settlement so you can seek out
a comparable replacement and put your good parts on another ride.

Knowing you are 17, we were all 17 at one time, I hope this works out for you.
My advice is dead on. Not knowing who is at fault or assuming you have proper coverage also enters into the picture.

good luck....

1. Get Appraisal. Buick GSCA did mine! Richard takes a lot of slack for some stuff but he will get you the highest dollar b/c his love for Buicks is unparallel compared to any other person! Some people on this board should be able to recommend who can give you a good appraisal for your car!
2. Surveillance video? Walgreens are usually great with cameras b/c of all the issues we have with robberies at their location. They usually have great footage!
3. Check police report. If the cops were doing their job properly (as I do this) they should have got voluntary statements from witnesses, checked surveillance, etc.

If you need help looking some stuff over, if u could, scan a copy of the report and email it to me to trose231@hotmail.com and ill help you out with some cop knowledge;)

4. Get attorney asap! No reason you shouldnt be equal or better off then you were before. Cars are replaceable but a GN is a collector car and in no way shape or form should you get a check for what a regular 87 "Regal" is worth!

I have had all the Insurance Co. at one time or another and State Farm is the best. They will offer you a low amount at first not because its a low ball but the car will show Regal on the Title. The Regal isn't worth much. You need to tell them you need an appraiser to look at the car and they will send one. Then get several adds of Gn's for sale from ebay and this site and make copies to give to State Farm.
The appraiser they sent to me looked at my pictures and the car. I had spent a day waxing and cleaning the damaged car up, so it looked great.
I ended up getting twice as much as I paid for the car and bought a stage 2 car as a replacement for my T-Type.
Same thing happened with my son's 72 Nova. They offered what the books said it was worth and ended up paying several times the offered amount.
This all happened in the last 3 years so the values should be higher now.

so i should wait till they tell me what they think its worth and then give them a ton of info saying otherwise? do you think i can do this on my own without a lawyer, based on what you just said, it seems fairly simple...?
