Car seems to run fine but lost lock up on convertor and scan master recall quit working. Boost is way up under throttle and I can hear extra air under hood when driving. Looked at all hoses and can't figure it out. Unplugged ecm but nothing changed. Car idles fine and afr is good just real quick spool and no lock up. I'm 50 miles from um need advice. Don't want to hurt tranny.

Sounds like a quad-driver in the ECM fried. Not sure if driving without lock up is going to hurt the transmission.

If it is a quad-driver issue, the culprit that caused it to fry needs to be fixed first. Then a new ECM installed.

Wonderful I guess I'll take it easy and try and get home.

Extra air? Triple check the up pipe. Yank on it.

Tcc not licking up can be the brake switch, stuck tcc solenoid, plug on side of tranny.

Triple check all soft connections for the pressure side of the turbo system. It may look like they're hooked up, but they can split too. Usually where the pipe clamps are.

if you have a manual lock up switch that will bypass the ECM side of the circuit (if that's the problem). Just for kicks when you're at cruising speed put your foot under the brake pedal and lift up on it. If the switch popped up a click, that might cause it to lock (and be an easy fix)

I hope you make it ok I just had a friend burn up a new 700r4 in hi 85 Chevy 4x4 with 383 gear drive stroker I just read a service bulletin from gm stating that if you have a condition where the converter will not lock in 4th gear in high way conditions to manually put it in 3rd gear and drive and get repaired before Attempting to drive said it would cause a over heating condition!

Remove the boost hose "Y" and inspect/replace those hoses. This happened to me on a 700 mile round-trip, the reference hose melted and I had wild, quick, unlimited boost. I suspected when my knock sensor went full red on accel, even though the boost gauge was lagging...

Thanks for the information everyone!

I made it home no issues. Before I left the shop today I checked all the hoses under the hood and snugged everything up. The car ran great for a while until I did a couple pulls in 3rd. I checked the SM after the pulls and everything seemed normal then I noticed the convertor wasn't locking up and the information in the recall mose on the SM wasn't there anymore. I never shut the car off so it should have still been there.

I have an issue somewhere under the hood with boost. I can hear a swish sound under low acceleration but nothing looked out of order. I'm home now so I'll take a better look tomorrow.
