Has anybody used this product to repair cracks on headers.

PERMATEX® Hi Temp. Metal Repair Compound 26346

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Makes long-lasting repairs to high-temp, low pressure exhaust leaks from the exhaust manifold to the muffler. Gets stronger with heat up to 2000°F. One part, water-based ceramic is safe and easy to use.

Suggested Applications:
Cracked and broken exhaust manifolds, headers, furnaces

Thanks, Nic

It will not work, with the header systems on our cars there is a considerable amount of back pressure before the Turbo, and the exhaust headers as well as crossover pipe are in high pressure areas.

If it does work it will not hold up.

Too bad we have High temp, High Pressure exhaust leaks.

That stuff would never hold up to the temps and extreme high pressures seen in our headers.

The steel repair is good for use as a gasket at the turbo header flange. I used some there before I got my header surfaced and it held up ok. I let it dry overnight before starting it though. For a crack or something is a header, you have to get it welded.

On the outside, this stuff will just crack and either fall off or not hold pressure. On the inside.... well I hope you have another turbo before you try this. :( This stuff gets pretty hard and I doubt your turbine would like it.
