I have a hot air and I was gonna use a 86-87 ecm in it and I pulled my computer out and put the new one in and now the car won't start, does that mean the computer is bad?

Why would you think just installing a computer from a 86-7 would work in your 1984?

That computer swap is not a plug-and-play situation.

In simpler terms, if you have a program in your PC and want to run it on a MAC, that will not work unless you have a program or software to make them compatible.

There are conversion items to make this work for you, and I would suggest you go to Casper's Electronics web site for this information.
