I think that the most obvious feature about the WE-4 are the Black bumpers. You could not get that without any other model except the GN. The AL rear drums was a some got, some didn't situation.. whatever was laying around at the time of build. When someone tells me Nice GN , i just say "thanks" . Explaining the WE4 / Turbo T name is long drawn out and they fall a sleep:mad:

Everyone puts up with that stupid crap. You got a GN "nice Monte Carlo" or some long drawn out story about his buddies GN. The people on the highway are the one that piss me off. Please pull up beside me and then come into lane while you stare at my car asshole.

Posi got regular drums and one wheelers got the aluminum drums...weird I know.

I was wondering back years when I parted out a wrecked WE-4 why it had iron drums. I just figured the previous owner put them on there instead of the alum drums.

Awww not this crap again!

I KNEW when I clicked on the thread, it was a we4 vs. non we4 "turbo t" post. And I'm here anyway. WTF am I doing with my life?
If you don't believe, what have you for documentation to dispute?
Turbo Regals are a special vehicle. I'm not disputing it. In 87 the book was opened up by Buick and wild combos could be had. I don't doubt it.

But, when the GM documentation clearly calls the WE4 the Turbo T package, ill argue it until someone can produce more than conjecture, opinions and "that's the way we always did it".

Thanks for stopping by.:D

Hey I didn't say one way or the other what I think. Frankly I don't care, I have a gn and a t-type lol. I just think its an endless debate. Someone will be on here every few months calling their "T" a "turbo T" and someone will debate it. Its like F/M vs. SLIC, Stock ECM vs aftermarket, powermaster vs anything else, thermostats vs non, the idea that anything before 1986 is scrap iron, etc. None of these debates will ever end. The horse is beat so bad you can't even tell it was a horse. I can't believe I actually read it and posted twice in it. I am disappointed in myself, that's all.

A WE-4 has always been called a WE-4 never hear it called a Turbo-T. Everyone owner here has WE-4 in their sig or name lol.

Most non Buick folks refer to them as Grand National's anyway. I just tell them T-Type/Turbo T same drivetrain different color and choice of interior. I have never been a fan of the Turbo T name or the badging. There is only 1 turbo 6 emblem on the whole damn car and it's not even seen unless the hood is up. The 86/87 GN got 11 of them. At least the 84/85 TT had the power 6's on the fenders below the T-Type badges.

Ooooo, your forgetting the one on the driver side sun visor!

Aarrrgggghhhh I can't resist yet again!

I hate the turbo 6 emblem. Its ugly and overused. I've removed 7 of them from my gn and I'm gonna peel the ones off the fenders of the t type. That's not much debate though, just personal preference.

I always refers to them as regal T, turbo. 86 brings up some argument also. All the grand nationals are regal t types with the grand national code added. Oh well. What really matters out of all the codes is LC2. That's the reason the cars popularity is what it is. If they offered a 150hp car with a y56 and grand national it would have been long forgotten.

Out of 5 turbo Buicks I've owned none of them had that oil sticker even present. I put a repro one on my new visors and it lasted maybe 3 months before it started peeling off. Repro parts are freaking horrible for these cars. The only two worth a shit are Highway Stars fuel sender and the dash cover. The GM repo side marker lights I bought 4 months ago are already dull and yellowed .

hahaha Do you mean that "Jiffy Lube" emblem?

"Why is that Jiffy Lube emblem on your car?!"

You know you are gonna come back to this thread. See?? ...you already did!

Previous owner gave me this :

I didn't want to remove it from the sealed plastic sleeve.

I like where it says "grand national sales volume cannot exceed 33% of regal turbo engine production, the other 66% of turbo sales must be in other regals"

FAIL!

I wonder how they explained that to the government.

You mean the power 6 emblem. Not all cars with that emblem were turbos ;). I'm with you though on seeing too much of the emblem doesn't do it for me. I peel more and more emblems, and badges off every year. Of course my T-Type was GN'ed out when I got it.

and here is the backside of it

Actually talking shit about the GN lol. This dude probably was thinking hey the dealerships are calling LC-2 Regals Turbo T's I will just go with that for the WE-4 but badge it the same as the others. Several years later Turbo T owners officially drop the name and use WE-4 instead lmfao.
