Hey,

I can't get Turbolink to sync with my newer Dell laptop. Gives me an error about LTP1. I am using the cable set-up in the 1st picture with the USB to serial converter and not having any luck. I installed the software and everything seems OK with the converter.

Any tips out there from someone who has got it to work??

I also have a serial port in the back of the computer (I think..., left side of 2nd picture). Should I skip the USB and use this?

Help!!?!?!!?!?

Heg87t - I saw your question in my post...answering here so all your info stays together. I'm by no means an expert, but I'll try to help.

I was running it on an older Gateway, so I don't have experience running it on newer hardware. I think I've read here that guys were having trouble with TLink and Vista, so try searching for that.

Also, just a guess here from looking at your picture, the conversion from parallel to serial to USB could be causing issues as well. Dump the USB and go into the serial port and see what happens.

Wish I could be more help. Good luck!

i believe the original style turbolink requires a parallel port.

If this is the case, then no combination of adapters stacked end-to-end will make it work.

That's kind of what I was worried about. I am running Turbolink version 2.13 and Windows XP. :(

Guess I need to find a newer version of Turbolink to load.
