Pulled this out of my GN yesterday - tranny is in the shop for a rebuild. What converter is this? Got a Red Stripe here waiting for install, just wondering if the one that was in there is a better one.

Looks like a stock D5 2400 stall to me, but then, I 'm not a guru.

Not a D-5! Has a 7 on it. No guru but a D-7 Monte Converter. Somewhere out there is a list of the D converters.

that converter is an older rpm (atc). the c24 means it is a little higher stall. 2200 i think. they called it a corvette converter. they changed the color of their converters to blue about 5 or 6 years ago.

So I'm guessing the Red Street Brawler would be a better choice for street/mild strip?

I'll keep it around as a 'spare' though...............
