Driving my 2003 GMC Yukon down the HYW and the engine just shuts off. It won't start. It has fuel at the rail and is getting spark at the coil. Don't know what could be wrong.

If he holds the gas down some and it fires and stays running till you take your foot off then iac. Can You Hear The Pump Running. I know you have fuel at the rail but do you have fuel pressure

Blown fuse? Could be crank sensor but not likely you have tools or the part with you. Hope you have AAA.

IAC only controls idle right?
It acts like it will hit once but nothing just cranks
I can't hear pump but never have. I have checked the scraider valve several times and it's seems to be holding pressure.

You'll need to put a pressure guage on the fuel rail! It can still have some pressure there but if its not
enough it will not start!

I will check it when I get it home. Right now I'm baking in this 97 deg sun

If you don't have AAA, simply call them. Pay with a credit card.
You can activate a membership right away.
"plus" plan gives you 4 (100 mile tows)
"Premier" plan gives you 1 (200 mile tow) & 4 (100 mile tows)

Then you can work on it when you get home.. Good Luck.

Got stranded in my company van years ago 2001 Chevy van it was the fuel pump. Thing just shut down like a bank on a Sunday driving down the road.

Well just got home. Cooked like a lobster. It is a fuel pump which it should be fun since we just filled it full with fuel.

kick the gas tank and see if that makes it work... at least then you can hook a hose up to the schrader valve on the fuel rail and pump the gas out..

does the fuel gauge work? of not, check the wiring going to the tank..

I was out with a friend during lunch one day and his engine wouldn't want to crank over. After checking and trying everything, he kicked the gas tank out of desperation. Engine fired right up!

We'll shoot I didn't think about that. I even have a woman at work that's how she starts her car. She smacks the tank while someone try's to start it.
