I need to buy a turbo for a street/strip full weight TR that the owner wants to run in the mid-low 11's easily. He wants good street manners and a hard charge on the big end. The car will have Champion ported 8445's and lower intake, 65mm TB, stretch IC, 55's, 3200-3400 stall 9" non/lu converter, stageright t-brake and meth injection. He wants to trap around 120 mph or so...what do you all think?

TIA

Easy choice...

GT6152 all the way!!!! The one guy down here Dave (F-1) has been 10.83 @124mph with this turbo and his car has a very similar combo to the one you listed and is also full weight... To be honest though I don't think you need a 3200-3400 stall converter, Dave only has a 3000 stall..

Thanks for voting...keep it going! Right now it's a pretty close race, I was personally leaning towards the 6152 myself.

I ran my times with my 6152 even with some problems. Turbo is easily capable of more. The 6131 won't give you as much power because you are limited to the smaller T-31 exhaust wheel. My 61 spooled like stock with a 3200 converter. Very street friendly. Hell I ran 11.50's on a bone stock unopened motor 110k miles at the time.

turbo upgrade

going to add 65 mm plenum and TB,dutt neck this winter.with my set-up,what should be my next turbo move.street car.Only 200 miles on rebuild ,I'm just looking ahead!! The 2800 stall will have to move up.3200,higher?

disregard previous post

Previous question redundant, there's plenty of info available!!

Joe, looks like you are limiting your choices here...... I've been selling lots of Tnetics 66 and 61 ball bearing turbos on similar combos.... the performance is crazy. I just sent a customer back to Illinois with a new motor, turbo etc... I was astounded with the spoolup and accelleration on 13lbs of boost with a new Tnetics turbo with the new F-1 turbine wheel. It was crazy....

Those were what the guy said he wanted or was considering...I tried to talk him into other turbos and he was set on those. We ended up on a 6155 and he seemed happy...so as long as he is happy, I am also....ya know how that works. How is JC?

Jack,

Can you expand on the benefits of the F1 wheels ? How do they compare to P-trim, Q-trim and GTQ wheels in general ?
