hi, i need some help with my car stumbling and bucking!! It started happening right after i put my new smc progressive system on it. I thought it was an easy fix by raising the turn on point, but something still isnt right. The stumbling will take place before the pump is spraying! I have it set to spray at around 10 lbs and it will buck like crazy if you ease into the gas, say around 5-7 lbs. Somehow could there be alcohol stuck in the line or something???? Also my spray lite will stay on for a while after it sprays, so does that mean there is alky stuck in the line????? Steve sent me out a check valve or something to fix this, but no instructions so i dont know where to put it.
I need help badly because this stumbling is annoying!!!
thanks!
btw this is on an 85 hot air using pure denatured alky

I have no clue how the SMC is, so I will just say make sure the pump is not on when it's stumbling... maybe LEDs are turning on but pump is on before that. Otherwise, there should be no change in operation unless it is getting siphoned out of the line/tank... again, idk the SMC kit well at all. If he sent you a check valve, then it goes on the pressure line before the nozzle. The valve direction is common sense (towards engine). This prevents any gravity on the tank fluid pushing fluid to the nozzle and siphoning of the fluid from the lines before the pump turns on...the check valves have springs holding the ball back at different tensions... for a turbo'ed app it will crack at 1-2 psi or so.

Your suppossed to run a solenoid with a hot air, as the TB is placed before the turbo. I dont see why a check valve would be needed with a motor that has a solenoid already in place.

Switch the alky off and see if the problems go away. If so.. then start working and seeing as to why. Nobody knows the SMC kit as Steve does, he should be used as your primary source of information that pertains to it and troubleshooting thereof.

Call him back and stay on top of it till all your issues are resolved. Sorry cant be more help on a system from a competitor. As I dont monitor what and how they do their things.

Ahh... I missed the hotair part ... I gotta start actually reading these posts  the skimming isn't working anymore

Yes, as razor stated a hotair is like a blown car in that the nozzle is always under engine vacuum in which case a check valve will probably not work, although maybe steve is doing something different with magic check valves in which case I'd get a few for myself as solenoids are 60$+ ... Does he know this is a hotair car? I'm guessing he missed that info too. We gotta get Steve on here every so often! I know imports are fun  but Razor or pretty much anyone else here wouldn't know how his kit is setup unless they've ripped on apart.

So where you been... I think your like me... whenever my car is running I never go online, when it's down that's all I do. We're trailering it down to keefers tonight... wont be long! We're getting it all ready for Razor at BG!

:)

IDK, he told me to come and line em up so I suppose so

I think the winner has to put the other's alky kit in their car :D j/k

I never back down from a challenge.. if its a 109 on pump gas.. i'm game.

T minus 75 days and counting.. ;)

Would like to see others with other systems step up to the plate as well.. had a customer today with DFI.. I said ehhhh.. not allowed in the TA class.. but thats why us renegades are here.. no rules.. cept pump gas and 3500 lbs.

Better put 4 nozzles on that sucker

woot this sounds good...

there better be VIDEO of this for those they cant make it
