Help with uploading AVCHD to YouTube

Can someone please help me out. I have a video camera (fairly new) that takes AVCHD video. You Tube apparently doesn't accept that format. So I downloaded this WinX HD program which converts the AVCHD file into different formats. I converted it to HD YouTube, mp4 and HD mov and HD AVI. The conversion works but I get no audio on any format.
Anyone have any ideas or a better conversion program? I would like to keep a HD format.

Try VLC and see if it works. It opens and plays just about any video.

Charlie thanks. I tried the conversion with that program and it doesn't even play at all. I don't have a problem opening or playing the original file just no sound when I convert it into a MOV or mp4 or AVI format.
