Don...ANother set of eyes would hurt and Ill try that.

Boost junkie... That would have been great but was the first thing I checked and the spring is there and weights move freely and the check balls are in place.

Give it more than a lil throttle and she just winds out, I let off the gas and I get a good solid snappy shift. Only in first does this happen.

I have a CZ VB that I am going to pull the 1-2 shift valve train out of and see if the springs and all are the same and try it.

I thought maybe the line psi was too high so i put the sto psi reg system back in and the problem is still there.
Had a second set of eyes and the VB is put together correctly.

Didnt try the CZ cause it never worked right either and not going to swap out to a VB that doesnt shift correctly.

Lets just say the VB is fine what internally could cause this condition?
Sealing rings, lipseals?

Fluid looks good and car runs out fine once its in second. Its just anything more than light throttle not shifting to 2nd is all.

Took the car on a 700 plus mile trip and it was fine.

I just cant see how the vb can work perfect and then pull it not touch a thing in it and reinstall and it stop working it was not exposed or the case for that matter any high temp flucuation or corrosive agent that could cause warpage.

I just dont have the extra cash now for a another BRF VB.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing i can think of would be to look at the vb gaskets and make sure there anrt any holes blocked. Also double check the shift kit instructions and make sure the correct holes were drilled.Maybe make sure the servo is getting hung up in the trans case bore,or the sealing rings are correct and not to tight.

Holes not blocked, shift kit same as it was for 7 years without a problem. Servo is applying on the 3-2 perfectly so that rules out the servo sticking, etc.

Anyone else?

I did get a recommendation to replace the governor due to it being original and high (170 k) mileage. Guy said that the 1-2 can be affected by a faulty governor and the rest of the gears shift point be on the money.
Weird as I thought all gears needed it but i can give it a whirl.

Update...its fixed.

Changed the VB and its fine now, its not a BRF but its a older TCI setup for a BRF spec and it works fine.
Will swap over my art carr springs from the BR.
