ive got a grinding noise coming from the torque converter i suppose . Only when the car is in dr or re and not moving as soon as the car is moving the noise seems to stop. the car shifts fine if not excellent there has not been any recent major repair to the transmission. acn any one experienced this or can tell me what my problems is i would appreciate some help thanks.

This may seem too simple, but is the flywheel cover dented?

no flywheel cover on only on rev or drive when 0mph when the car starts moving the sound lets up?

What converter are you using? Muti-disc Vig converters are notoriously noisy at idle.
Maybe loose torque converter bolts, or flexplate.

If convertor is high mileage , may need re-stall. I have a brand new d-5 stock convertor for $65.00 with receipt.
