For some strange reason when I hook up my OTC 4000E to my "86 GN, My car will go from around a 550-600rpm idle to about 1000 rpm's once the OTC starts reading data from the car. Once I disconnect the OTC the car goes back to normal idle. I was able to set the IAC while the IAC was disconnected using the OTC. I set the IAC counts to 35 to 40. And I set the rpm's @550. What is the deal? Anyone know?
Also, what wire on the ALDL do I use for the TCC lock up?
Thanks for the help if anyone can!

I have the 2000 and mine does the same thing. I don't know what causes it.

You need to put the OTC in "road mode" to prevent that. After choosing data stream, press 4 and then 9. That should get you there.
