comin up on the 10 year reunion and the "committee" want to be all proper and go downtown to some fancy restaurant for 100 a head. ..I said we should do something cheap for food in the burbs and then free shuttles around to five local establishments where I am sure we could get some sweet deals  any opinions, thoughts or ideas?

forgot to add that the high school is in the burbs

Mine got canceled last year because the tickets were $50 and only 5 or so had purchased tickets. Economy sucks even more now, and $100 per is pretty pricey. I think people would be more willing to drop $100 bar hopping than eating at a fancy restaurant. I think you have the right idea IMO.

my 10 year was 5 years ago. It was $75 for a couple with wedding reception style food and a cash bar it was cheap though. They had a DJ...it was nice. Had it the weekend of thanksgiving that way more people would already be in town. Had a large turnout..We had a keg party at someones house the night before with the "old clique"....tons of fun.

It should be at a place you could afford when in high school.

My 20 year is sept 12th. The 10 year was at a park, roasted a hog, DG, a few kegs, everyone had fun. One of the guys in my class owns a little golf course (dumpy). Had the 15 year reunion there. Works out great. Regular food, kegs, pleanty of ground to play around, nothing fancy, everyone comfortable, and you can wander around and talk to everyone. I think its $20 a head. I bought the kegs last time cuz they wanted to do a BYOB. Probably do that again this year.

above advice is good about the cost factor my wife and I have attended several and she and I have run one of them (me being the MC.....wife was 2 years behind me in high school but a whole lot smarter....some of my classmates failed enugh times to graduate in her class small maybe 90 members...

anyrate its best to key it into a holiday when many will be home in that area....fall is a good time...

You don;t want a high dollar affair as that can be a factor keeping some away...which takes the fun out of it...usually its 1/2 the couple that went to the school in the first place.

If you running it its a lot of work....

bigger the graduation class the better the re turn numbers obviousily....

I think you wanna shoot for $75 tops per couple.....in this eocnomy....

just my thoughts....

I am nearing the 45 mark from high school.....

member when they said those where the best days of your lives...and none of us believed that....its true think about it when you went to school.....lived at home how many bills did you get in the mail back then? very few compared to now!

Meh, I really don't care to see anyone I graduated with. Bunch of a$$holes 10 yrs ago, prolly the same today.

<----was the outsider/metal head/jock

When I went to my 20 a few years back... all the girls I never cared for in the first place were all fat and the Jocks which I never cared for neither were all drunk as well as fat, out of 300 or so class I think 60 showed.

While I agree in part with the above comments.....sometimes the reverse happens.....unfortunately my graduation was at the height of Vietnam time frame.....gives you a different prospective in life......

If nothing else go for the food and see how well the jocks in their day have done in the current day.....may be a lot different.
