Hello. So now that it's HOT outside, 90 degrees plus, I had a problem starting my car after it had been sitting for a good hour, hour and a half. I believe the starter was "Heat Soaked!" Luckily, I had just purchased one of those "Battery Jump Packs." Started right up. Thank God, I was at a "CAR SHOW!" So, my question is why am I having so much trouble finding a "High Torque Mini Starter to purchase? Does anyone make a "Quality Piece" for our cars? Not something on Ebay, by way of China? Thanks very much. P.S. I did wrap "Cross/over pipe", But you know what. That big, heavy ACDelco starter sits to close to the headers, Oil pan, and is mounted directly to the block. I don't need to remind you of how much heat is trapped in the "engine Bay." Too bad somebody doesn't make an "isolator" to prevent the heat transfer from the block. Oh well. At this point, a high-quality mini starter would probably be the solution to any future "Hot weather" starts!

Buy the one on EBay from
earl brown he is a member here everyone knows and sells quality parts. They are not Chinese junk.

Earl Brown 👍

I'm having hard starts, cranking rpm is low, guy on Pontiac board went from 110rpm to 325rpm via a 1800ca Lithium battery, starts instantly. Another guy like 1500ca and 200rpm starts instantly.

Could be starter, could be battery and cranking rpm is low, your jump box story sort of leads more battery IMO.

In addition to whats been mentioned, if your still on the original battery cables make sure to inspect them for corrosion and how clean the connections are.

Don't forget to check battery cable grounds as well. Your starter uses the engine block for its ground. Corrosion between the starter mounting surface and block can cause issues too.

If they don't look 100% Caspers makes a nice HD battery cable set.

WAI mini starter 6470N - no problems at all. I dont recall where I purchased back in 2020.
