Im standing at a machine in my shop and it starting moving across the floor...I didnt know what the hell was going on. Then it hit me, EARTHQUAKE!!! Thats the 3rd one I have felt in my lifetime. If you have never felt one, its really weird. Thought I had 1 too many at lunch...

Coach:biggrin:

wow... everyone on the east coast (ive read) is saying 2012... and in the west, its just another day... In washington, theres atleast 1 earthquake every week. Not even enough to notice. Californians pretty much made a buisness out of them (earthquakes are the southeasts huricanes and tornadoes). At night sometimes you can feel a slight tremor. In The San andreas fault, you can really feel earthquakes up close and personal. Last big one we had was in 2001 or 2002 I believe. the west coast is WAAAAY overdue for the next big earthquake or for Mt Rainier to blow its top.

that is stil crazy, and hope everyones okay, and your houses are still standing!!

My sister-in-law was in D.C. when it happened. She's fine .

We felt it here in indiana .. Just a little .. My building shook.. And we didnt think anything of it till the local radio station asked. Anybody feel that? .. We thought it was a semi passing in front of the shop ..

Don't say that, I might be moving to Cali...lol.

But, there are "lots" of potential things that are supposedly over due such as Yellowstone (which depending on the situation could be the end of everything if it blows), then there is half of the big island of Hawaii which is supposedly going to slide off it's shelf and bring about a tsunami that will wipe Ohua off the map, and a few other happy happy joy joy things which may or may not ever happen :).

Didn't feel a think in Woodbridge CT. Was planing a door at the time and everyone was freaking out a bit.

Wierd thing: I was driving my Caddy up to a freinds shop and all the guys were running out front. I got out and they described it, but I didn't feel a thing because I was in the car. Gotta love the ride of those old boats! Headed to my house which is located 70 miles from the epicenter, hopefully no damage.

I had just got to the top of mt monadnock in nh sat down + a girl got a text on her phone saying there was a earth quake in va. + they felt it in ma.
I didn't feel a thing up there on all that granite, but my legs were buzzing from the climb, so probably wouldn't have felt it anyway.
I don't think i have ever felt one, must feel strange.

hate to say it its true, Out here i belive that earthquake insurance is avalible, and in california theres a buisness called cali-quake that specilizes in inspecting and proofing houses. All the skyscrapers i can think of are made to withstand atleat a 9.0 magnitude.

As for the volcano, Mt Rianier and Yellowstone are the most volcanicaly active moutains in the lower 48. My rianier is gonna be the next Mt saint helens, and its how many thousands of feet taller

I loved watching the east coasters FREAK out on the news about the quake. Even in the White House press conference people were straight panicking LOL.

83Turbo is right, when Rainier goes... OH F'N BOY !!! Its gunna blow Washington into the stone age!

I take it back i think i may have felt it,as i was getting close to the top ,i got this wierd off balanced feeling,+ it felt kind of strange for a second or 2, but i just thought it was maybe the altitude or something,i didn't feel shaking or anything like that but there is nothing around you to rattle either,on a mountain.
I kind of wondered if that might have been the quake, after i heard about it,+ i was just watching the news + a woman said the same thing ,she was outside + suddenly felt a kind of weird vertigo type feeling,no shaking + didn't know what it was until she heard about the earthquake +then realized that is what it was. I'm pretty sure that is what i felt.

I felt it here in northern ri ,overhead garage door springs were bouncing up and down I thought it was wind or something untill I put it together when I saw the news!!!

I missed it!

I heard our fire alarm go off and the entire building was evacuated. Some people on the second floor said that their flatscreen monitors were rocking back and forth. I called the wife at home and she said that she had a queazy feeling like she was dizzy for a few seconds.

In western PA was teaching at the time and felt like their was some kind of vibration in the floor, the desk were vibrating a bit. A student asked me what that was all about, I figured it was a semi that passed by until parents started calling the school.
Really felt like a big train passing by a building. In college my dorm was about 30yrds off a set of railroad tracks that carried coal trains. Felt about the same.
