So I was in on the turbo shield group buy for the hot air turbo heat shield. I have picked up a NOS hood liner as well. I have some mounting concerns as it appears in order to mount the shield I would have to trim the hood liner where shield mounts. Would someone show me a couple close up photos of their shield mounting area?

Why would you need to trim it. I have had one on my car for a very long time. Bolt it on and go

If you look at the bottom area of the heat pad, the holes are slightly behind or underneath it.

Well I heard from a member that the bottom needed trimmed out. I think I will drink a few beers before I trim a 600$ hood liner

I bought the heat shield as well. I see your problem but the cold weather keeps me away from installing. In a time long ago under the influence I had to cut the pad at the lower end for the screws for the cover. That was a mistake because I had a 86/87 actuator installed which ruined the heat shield. The actuator was to high. I have modified the actuator later to preclude this problem. Soon to test. I can send pics. Be careful

I just dont know if I can cut it....lol. I may just figure out a way to lower the actuator as well and powder coat and clean up the old heat shield to use it instead.

Don't guess on how to lower the actuator. Already figured it out. Do you want PICS?

I think you may have sent, but that was on an older computer. SO if you send them again I'd appreciate it.

Toby- The PICS will show you how to drop the 86/87 actuator deck height. Simply drill a new hole like my spare and you can see the lower height. I have not tried this with my new heat shields yet. BradIMG_0561.JPG IMG_0562.JPG IMG_0564.JPG IMG_0561.JPG IMG_0561.JPG

welp.....I took the nerve to cut the new liner. Oh well. It does fit now, and pretty nicely. It definitely needs trimmed to fit.

I've got a new h/a hood liner in central FL 34470 for sale but will not ship if anyone wants to come buy it. $350

Bro I'm in Cali, you the guy that has it on top of your fridge on your garage ? I think so... I'd pay if you ship it though... guess I'm out... some one that has a H/A like me would love to have that item and show it off along with all the hard work I've invested into my car but can't have it it's waaaayyy too far for me to pick up

Yeah well my brotha, I really need one but can you please put in the extra effort and have it shipped to CA 93033 ? THANKS

I got nailed by a judge and missed best if show because of the condition of my hood lIner....worth every penny.
