Hot air cat back exhaust suggestions

It's time to replace my cross mounted stock exhaust system. What options are out there for hot air cat back systems. What have you guys used?:) Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
 
I use the Hooker 2 1/2 cat back which comes with the test pipe. Slight modification for the stock downpipe though. No issues after five years. Good luck. Brad
 
Thanks guys, I looked at TR Custom but did not see a listing for the 84/85s. I will go back and check again. Thanks for the help.
 
IF there is not a listing it doesn't matter, they fit any(most G body) cars, I went with hooker, i like their aero chamber muffler. BUT for a bit less(i didn't know at the time) i could have gotten all SS exhaust from pypes. Tho my hooker system is new still i do see little rust in welds,weather etc.

Pypes go by different mufflers in the kit so check that out.

again all these should fit more G body, monte carlo SS, cutless(442) So 84-87 TR fit no problem.

either way is nice upgrade, but if you really want a true exhaust upgrade Ditch the turbo Elbow and get atleast a 2.5'' downpipe or 3''. That turbo elbow is 2'' only. All up to you tho. I'm working on a 2.5'' DP myself,

This statement is right on 100%. Exhaust upgrades for performance improvements are worthless until the turbo elbow is eliminated. The other is the passenger side exhaust header. Brad
 
I have a 2-1/2 stainless system I got from Gbodyparts.com . Came with stainless Magnaflows and it sounds awesome. Uses all the factory mounts as well. Here are some pics:

By the way TURBONUT, That's a hell of a frame up job, I'd weld a seat to it and drive it just like that,talk about weight reduction;) DAMN LOOK HOW CLEAN everything is! great job!! Take care

Gbodyparts has a nice 3 inch hot air pipe that takes the elbow out of the equation and is supposed to bolt right up, thats the way I'm going next month that and a 3 inch cat. As far as the cat back, just about any grand national kit I've seen will fit 84 thru 87 the same, the pipe paths are there for the dual on all those years and If you don't like the kit you can go the way I did which is find a good exhaust shop that bends their own pipe and have them make you a custom cat back set up and you can choose any mufflers you want.....my peeps at Custom Exhaust in Myerstown, pa did mine up for 510 bucks which is pretty close to what you'd pay for any of those kits new. I'm very happy with the set up and can't wait to get the gbody pipe and 3in cat on there too.
