I'm thinking this may be a long shot. Does anyone have a system that adds chlorination to their well at their house? We have a well and the water is good and clear but it gets to smelling like rotten eggs. Especially the hot side. I have removed the rod from the water heater. Also we have a water softner which is working. I also understand that a water softner does not remove smell. I am controlling the rotten egg smell right now by pouring about a 1/4 cup of blech in the well each week. No smell when I do that. The only thing is with doing it this way and pouring it in the well is it breaks up and attacks any sulphur etc and our water turns a lovely shade of orange for a day. SO.... I have been looking into the solution of a chlorination system that I can install at main line in the house next to the water softner. I would install it after the water softner. If anyone has one or knows about them please let me know.
Thanks!
George
