I have to keep my GN outside periodically this winter as I work on my race car. I need the elbow room. I don't like it, so don't beat me up too much. Anyway, my wife has four cats, and they like to get up on the buick when I'm not looking. I've already gotten some scratches in the paint from the little bastards. Any suggestions on how I can keep them off the car when it's outside? Thanks.

easy,,,,,,,,black pepper.....sprinkle all over hood, roof, trunk.when cat climbs up to relax and take a "bath", it gets a taste of the pepper from its paw,it will never jump on the vehicle again...
pepper will dust or wash right off....

I did the black pepper trick yesterday. When I went out this morning there were fresh muddy printed on the hood. It appears a cat jumped up and took and couple steps and bailed off. I'll report how this plays out....

kirban 2 cents worth

Cats as most cat owners realize have a mind of their own and its hard to break their habits...

IWe have one inside cat...you could put a steak by her and she would not touch it....other cats would devour it.

I have 2 outside ones that use a small cat door to stay in my polel building with my cats. The one sleeps in a Turbo Regal bucket seat I have next to their food bowl. The other sits on the trunk lid of my Corvette as that car gets the sunlight in the morning. So I have two thick blankets on the trunk lid.

In the summer time the one that sits on the bucket seat loves to sit on the black convertible top of my wifes car....I have a black towel we put down at nite so we don't have all that cat hair on the car.

You got 4 of them you need to adapt....blankets and car cover the way to go and keep the famiily peace...

My two that live in my pole building do a great job no rodent problems ever.....

good luck with your decision....I would avoid some of the ones that picture weapons above at the very least don't show them to your wife......

Told the wife that if the pepper didn't solve the problem I would solve it with a 10-22 rifle. She said she would solve our marriage with a divorce. I said, hey I was joking and it sure didn't sound like you were joking...

lol... I know. Women would sell their kids before part with those dam cats.

Ain't that some chit;) Women:rolleyes::biggrin: At least our cats have gotten to where they only sit on my wife's car so ;)

Try the electricity then!

I have the same problem. I drive my 01 Camaro SS almost every day and park it outside in the driveway. I often find muddy paw prints all over the hood and Iv'e caught the cat once or twice on it. I think it belongs to my neighbor.

It would be a pain to have to throw the cover on it all the time or run electricity to it every time I park it.

I had a similar problem with a stupid kitten jumping into the motor compartment to sleep... Heard it crying so I popped the hood... Next morning started the car and then decided to shut it off and pop the hood again... Bam... lil bastard was there... I wonder what would of happened if I had driven the 35 miles to work... ah well one will never know..

However, car cover wrapped tightly on the bottom is probably your best and cheapest route. They seem to always jump on stuff no matter how many times you push them off...

Cats and Women are the same...they gonna do what they want anyways...:D

Then if she feels that strongly about her cats maybe, just maybe it's time you took her up on her offer.

Cats are a PITA I have a indoor and when she croaks no more cats. Hair, pan o crap, puke. No more
I had a Tomcat spray my windshiled and a/c inlet area once it forever for that stupid ammonia cat piss smell to go away. I caught him cleaning himself one day beside the driveway and pegged him in the head with a rock.

I hope the rock killed the POS. If it were me, I woulda pegged him with a .30-06 & watched his guts explode into a million pieces.
