How long are you guys going on copper core plugs? I pulled these out today to open the gap up with TR6 and found them all at .035-.042. I rest them to .040 and imagine that got some random misses. New plugs for me. Car ran great on stock ignition with those gaps. I really don't know how long they ve been in there mileage wise.

Stevey, I use Autolites Copper 144 Non Projected at .028. I change them out everytime I change the oil at 1,000 miles. Largest gap difference I've seen was .035 on one of them. Typically I'll see .031-.033.

If I 'm going over 18 lbs boost, I set the gap a .028 to .030,
if under 18 lbs, .030 to .032,
and I change once a year, ( about 1500 mi)

How long, well 9"

Do you take your car to the track a lot or street miles? Every 1000 miles would seem a bit excessive.

Street car. Usually takes me 4-6 months to drive 1,000 miles. E85 running 25lbs of Boost.

Oil is cheap, why not change it often?

I change mine about every 500 mile then, because that is about what I put on my car during the summer. I change it in the spring and in the fall.

My plugs probably have been in 5 years and thats maybe 12k miles all street and 25 psi with alky.

Stevey they are only a buck 50 a plug! Send me that TR6 and I'll send you about 100 spark plugs. ;)

You are correct, however when my cars run good I leave them ALONE...this one has been together since 2007. Now that being said I have been gathering parts for the next engine and it is ready to be built. And the new trans has been done since before Johns car was here it is still sitting on the bench.. Just wanted to get TR6 on my stockish setup and play.
