Just took my newest one out last night.
I need to do some tuning tweaks and port the wastegate hole on the GT67.
I have a flat tappet cam,non BB turbo,3400 stall.
Boost is instant,like yesterday instant.
Gave it a little over 1/2 throttle and the boost hit 20#!
The boost setting in the chip is supposed to be 16# but the wastegate hole is most likely the culprit.Hit 25# instantly when I took it to WOT at 40mph and roasted the tires until I let out. I have 93 in the tank and luckily it didn't huirt anything.
The motor has hyper pistons, 214/224 cam,champion irons,Gbody slic,60#ers,and the stall converter,with a gen 2 translator and 4" maf pipe.
I need to figure out the tuning on the gen 2 as it is stalling on me at stops,cruising and WOT are fine.
That's cool to hear......Sounds just like the same build I'm currently working on minus the Gen 2.

But what has to be done to the 4.1L to handle boost. Could I put 86/87 parts on and go or does it really need to be built to handle the boost.![]()
I just had a 4.1 thrown together a few weeks ago, cool 84- I finally used those new pistons i purchased from you many many years ago![]()
This will be my second 4.1, and i agree with the off idle torque and boost coming up quick!
I will be using the same combo as the last one, larger 66mm turbo, ported heads and a 218 camshaft. Nothing wrong with mid 11s on low boost, just enough power to start breaking parts :biggrin:

low compression pistons which are the only ones available.Thats it and bolt up all the 3.8 stuff add about 10% fuel across the board to your 3.8 tune.
Now thats riding!!! I hope mine gets close to that. The block checked out, so now i got to get 30over pistons, but i cant seem to pull them up on summits web site.10.23 at 132 mph, with stock heads at 25psi
My last one had a 218/218 cam and te63 with a front mount and 3200 stall,Old T+ and extender chip.
Could run low 11's all day on 93 and 16#.Drove it an hour both ways to one of the local 1/8 mile tracks and ran 7.17 and hot lapped it and ran 7.18 @ 98mph without letting any air out of the tires (had 30# in them). Took the car down the track just like I drove it in the gate.No ALKY either.
