How many of us cruise a beat up TR?

Mine is a 20 footer. The paint is shiny but the car is usually dirty, most dont notice the rust bubbles under the body filler in front of the rear wheels and the rusted out drivers side rocker panel. Still gets lots of looks though.

funniest thing about driving a beater

is when you blow the doors off someone who's got candy paint, rims and the whole 9 yards and all you do is wave at them while their freinds laugh at them for getting beat by a hooptie.

Both front and rear bumper fillers are gone on my car. ( I need to replace these, it makes the car look horrible). Paint is really faded (Texas car), sagging headliner, no rust though, a few dings.

It looks good at dusk!:biggrin: I want to get the car restored but my funds won't allow that right now.

It is fun out on the street or the track where usually nobody gives the car a second look until I rip off a low 11 second pass. Then people come out of the woodwork to see what the hell just happened.

my $0.02...

run what ya got, enjoy it. keep it clean (washed/vacuumed) and running right. if it has any leaks, fix those first. fix the cosmetic stuff as time and money permit - but get it out and enjoy it!

I really enjoy my GN and I'd like it to be nicer, but some of the most fun I've had with cars is with the beaters I've owned in the past.

As long as it runs good, I would say the rougher ones are actaully bettter for a driver, since it gets less attention and less possible thefts.
