How much for a trans rebuild on 84?

How much should it cost torebuild the trans? My gears are changing late. What could be the problem? Im a gn rookie and need all the advice i can get.

Give me a shout. I'm 4-5 hrs away from you. We can look at it.

My first suggestion, check the TV cable adjustment. Back it off a click or two and see if the shifts are timed better.

If not, you could look at the governor, possible spring loss.

manto be honest...i don know what any of that stuff is. I was planning on selling my gn to get an 87. The guy that wanted to buy it for 7k didnt know much either about the car but said it might have a trans problem. But i do agree...its shifting gears late. Also it bogs out when I turn it on and just give it a lil gas.

As for bogging out, check the Cat converter to see if it's stopped up. Unhook it or try a test pipe.
