My wife's car(2009 Impala) decided to try and burn itself down on Monday of this week, and she has now been driving my truck. Looking at the bright side, I've drove my GN to work every day this week. I have such an addiction to boost, I can't stop getting into it every time I take off. I have to physically make myself take off slow from stops and turns. Now I know how some of these drug addicts feel when they are trying to quit.

Gas mileage ain't worth a crap the way I drive!

Anyway, my wife's car had the lighted mirror on the drivers side wire short out above the headliner. I had to bail my wife and kids out at the end of my friends driveway. Unscrewed the visor and pulled the headliner down and flames were rolling. Thank goodness my friend had one of those pathetic little fire extinguishers.

$4.25 for premium is how I keep somewhat restrained.

I'm happy with an 18 mpg avg. and my commute is mostly highway with lean cruise. :p;)o_O

Glad y'all are safe!!!

I drive mine a few days a week to work and it's tough not to squeeeeeez in to the throttle. My favorite thing to do is roll lightly in to a second gear chirp with a car beside me. The look on their face is priceless.

Oh wow! Thank goodness everybody was okay. That's too bad. On the hand of daily driving the Buick, I bought my car in spring of 2011 and have been daily driving it ever since. I bought it with 64k on it, and over the last two years, it now has 82k. People keep telling me that I need to stop driving it, but I say I will stop driving it when it stops being fun!! I do have a 32 year old Suzuki motorcycle that stands in during major repairs and the majority of the summer... A little different driving schedule than back home in Minnesota. Down here in Arizona, I hate driving the Buick in the summer do to how hot the paint gets and the killer UV beating everything in and on the car, plus the monsoons, it's always a 3 or 4 hour ordeal with washing the car after getting nailed by a monsoon. Plus the car is lowered and I'm not trying to turn the Buick into a turbo inboard on the many "temporary" lakes that form in the streets. But over all, it took me about 6 months to ease off the pedal mashing an that was when it was stock!! Now of course, after every upgrade its a week or two of tire blazing. It also does not help that everybody and their brother wants to take a stab at the black mamba on the streets. Constantly swatting away the jokers who think its just a Monte Carlo. I actually had a guy in a WS-6 pull out of a race and say, with a wide eyed stare "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT NOISE?! Is that my car or yours making that whistle!?" I said "Its mine...?" He was so confused so I helped him along with his problem solving and told him it was turbocharged and as soon as I said that, he told me to have a nice day and turned off at the next turn. Like I said, I will stop driving it when it stops being fun!!

Use ours everyday.. Time to get more Methanol :D Used 7 gals worth of "FUN" so far this summer. Nothing like 27#s of boost to get a big grin on your face :p

I know and miss that feeling. Went through 5g this year. Only thing I hate about college so far... No Buick.

You focus on your studies young man.

Methanol, I think I used about 4-5 gallons as well I'm always in the boost. sometimes I even have to drive into the bad part of town to get it too, kind of like drugs.

I miss boost without a friigin manual tranny.

I've owned quite a few GN/TRs through the years, but...... after having my 86 GN show car totaled, a couple of others almost crashed into by "lookers" and several attempts of being followed home, I've said I would never make one a daily driver again.

I understand... these cars now days are not DD's to easy to steal or some idiot will run a red light. I've had a few close calls in the GN, where someone would cut me off or run that red. It scares the hell out of me.

Do I drive my car a lot hell yes but not a grocery getter.

I drove mine daily for almost 11 years. Good insurance just in case, but enjoyed the hell out of it. Even drove her cross country a few times. Want to pick up another TR daily driver next year because I miss it!

i agree with you on this.

It's hard not to drive the Buick everyday to work or to get something quick just to get in it and drive. The only thing that stops me really from driving the buick is definelty rain(drag radials) longer trips, if i know im going to have more than 2 people in the car and gas. It's also a toss up between the buick and the bike on really beautiful days. But come this NY winter the trusty 235k honda civic comes in handy and i use this puppy for its 38mpg, compared to the buicks 15mpg

15mpg I guess if you keep your foot in to it? I get about 20mpg around town driving normal and I have gotten 29-30mpg on the HRPT.

Sure is fun having the boost on tap. Damn it's addicting. I try harder not to get on it too hard because I'm using it as my only set of wheels for now. The turbo is weird, I usually get used to the power and speed of things, but every time I mash the pedal I get the same rush. I wish I had one of these years ago.

I get in the Buick because its fast. I think a pail of meth lasted me a month tops when I had alky. Now I don't drive it daily at all. The faster it gets, the less I have time to drive it. Soon it will be passed on and I plan to build a stock daily driver t type to drive and enjoy.
I have learned a ton compared to when i had my first 12.70 daily driver.

Ive been driving mine everyday, and I did a burn out while leaving a customers shop.....felt sorry for my car after the adreilin wore off....
