help me guys Im 34years old and really want to get into doing a lot of this work myself.

Flip over and shake.

make sure you label all of the electrical connectors, remove the radiator (don't have to, but gives you more room) un-bolt the tranny, tranny lines, linkage, collant lines, oil cooler, remove intercooler (brackets and shroud too), power steering lines, fuel lines, Ground straps, Exhaust system, Starter power and ground line, AC lines to compressor.

I got my motor out with the tranny and the hood ON. It is certainly easier to do without the hood and tranny.

For the electrical lines I used electricians labels, but you will see that there are no "same" connectors on any of the lines. So they can only go to one place.

Strap the harness and any other hanging thing up out of the way and pull.

Also, go ahead and remove the turbo, up pipe and any thing else you think would make it easier to remove the engine.

I would say to get a book for the car from autozone,pepboys,ect...it will help u out alot.

just start unhooking stuff until the motor comes out.
installation is a reversal of the order of removal.
you can ask a million questions online, but the only way to learn is to do. just remember to think safe.

Label all bolts and put them into bags. Even stupid ground bolts. Label label label:eek: . A couple of pictures might help to, and dont forget the alcohol. Just dont put it back together with alcohol ;) you'll forget something then.

Engine hoist? I'm sure you already have one but if not get one that has a Loooong boom if you plan on pulling it from the front.

I just did mine and kept the tranny and the hood on. It's alot easier not having to deal with pulling the transmission out together with the motor. Iv'e done it both ways.

It gets easier after the second time. :D

There are 3 grounds on the back of the PS head. Make sure they are ultra clean when you reinstall the engine. If the grounds are corroded in these cars, you can end up with all kinds of electrical gremlins.

Take as many PICTURES as you can!!!! of the motor before you disconnect anything. They will be your life saver, when you don't remember how something goes.

I use to think, that I will just remember, but sometime there are unseen delays on putting it back together and by then the details will fade.

Take close up pictures of everything, oil lines, which one connects where, of the vacuum lines, sensor locations and routing, accessory brackets, etc. If you do not have a Buick service manual...get one, I got one for $180 on eBay. It is awesome having it.

I drop the trans out of the back first. Then take the motor out. You have a lot more control of it that way.

I think someone may have mentioned this, but get a box of ziplock bags and a marker. Remove bolts and organize them into bags with labels. Ex) TRX bolts. Use them to keep track of your bolts and where they go. Nothing is more frustrating than sorting out bolts.

No short cuts, get a good engine picker. I like taking the front bumper off so I can have some wiggle room.

Clean as you go. It makes for a nice re-install if everything is clean. I was bolts, brackets, you name it. 3 gallons of Purple power engine degreaser first time I took mine engine out.

Let us know of your progress.
