Well, we dodged the bullet. Ivan turned East at the last minute and all of our damage is minimal. Got electricity back today. Unfortunately, that turn put it straight at James Bishir and Chris Welk. We're thinking about you guys and all of our Turbo Regal buddies in that area.

Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and that whole area are destroyed.

Any word from any of these guys?? Hope they made it thru OK. Up here in CT we are getting a lot of rain dumped on us by Ivan though it is nothing compared to what the rest of you went thru.

I didn't make it too well. I lost my house, most of my possessions except the clothes on my back, and a stick of deoderant. I'm sure in the long run I'll do alright, but right now it's really hard. The GN was about 95% back together from the wreck where the idiot crossed into my lane. I came home to find it and my 67 Mustang Fastback under 4 feet of water. :(

I'm very depressed about this, but at least my family is alive.

Thanks for your concern,

James

Bishir,
Sorry to hear the news buddy, but you'll pull through. I was just watching that video of your accident today. If you pulled through that, you can make it through this. At least this time you'll be covered by insurance, right?

Everything but the GN was insured. I hadn't been driving it because of the paint job and I was going to wait to put it on Grundy when the Mustang insurance ran out. I'm an idiot...

hey man i see you post on here quite often and you seem like a cool guy, and hope that you and your family are alright.

Joshua

James,

Let me know if I can do anything to help. Your GN might be covered by your homeowner's policy. Unless you didn't have separate flood insurance....

Hurricanes do so much water damage and normal insurance will cover rain damage if the roof comes off but not flood damage from tidal surge, go figure.

Again, let me know if I can help with ANYTHING.

James, this is heartbreaking news. I was worried about you and your family when we had not heard from you since the hurricane hit. Losing everything one posseses is something I just can not fathom.:( I was always an admirer of your cars and your house/garage. We are all here for you to unload on if you need to.

Sorry to hear that guys. A tornado touched down in my aunts back yard and ripped the roof off her house & did alot of other damage. The house pretty much needs to be rebuilt. In the mean time they are staying with her sister who lives close by, her house was not all that bad. We wish everyone well down there pensacola was slammed pretty hard if anyone wants to check out how bad go too www.pensacolanewsjournal.com and look at the pictures. The worst part of this hurricane was that it did't just destroy peoples homes, it destroyed everything :(

Man, that's horrible :(. Western PA even got hit pretty hard on Friday, lots of areas had severe flooding, with 6-7" of rain falling in 24 hours. Where I live, we had about 4.5". I was lucky, my basement didn't even take in any water (usually with very heavy rains it trickles in). My neighbor up the road had alot of problems with water coming in around the chimney....
Can't imagine what you guys are dealing with...

James, I just went to post a thread at the top of the page about you since I hadn't seen you here and was worrying. I am extremely sorry that my fears were confirmed. I am a little bit away from you but would be willing to help you with ANYTHING I can. Just ask and don't be shy about it..

God's tests are often difficult, but he will see you through.. as well as your friends here will.

To the rest of the board, I know it may be a bit to ask, but how about we start up a collection to help Bishir out (with his blessing of course) and get him on the way to replacing that GN since it was not covered. I am sure he has other higher priorities than a car right now but hopefully insurance will "help" with those.

I will be more than willing to organize and make sure James sees every penny we raise. If there are others in his situation who are "regulars" here who suffered similiar losses, we can split the funds..

James, I hope I haven't overstepped my bounds here, but times like these are what set a person/community apart.. It's all about helping one another as far as I'm concerned..
