Hydroboost Master Cylinder issues.

I recently changed from powermaster to hydroboost. While bleeding the brakes I felt something clunk in the pedal. I removed the master cylinder to find the retaining clip stuck in the booster and the plunger of the master cylinder was protruding outwards.

Is this a common problem on the 10-1984 master cylinders?

We use the 1.125" bore Wilwood m/c. Haven't seen that happen.

I run the Fenco (new one) for an 81 Caddy Eldorado. No problems with it as it bolts right up to the 84/85 hydrobooster and looks way more modern with a plastic reservoir.

Snap ring might not have been seated good. Or the "plunger" on the hboost might have some interferance with the ring and knocked it out. Might look for marks on the hboost actuator to see if it made contact.
