I have accumulated 2 hydroboost units, but they are different looking. One is off of an 83, and one off of an 84 or 85. The 84-85 one has a gold cannister looking aluminum peice that I believe say's compressed air, caution, or something like that.
the other does not have that. I'll get some pics up as soon as I find my cable for the camera:o just curious as which is better, I want to slap it in my elky.
also I dont like the master cylinders on them, they are cast iron and ugly, I know the astro van's have hydroboost units, can I use one of the aluminum master cylinders from the van on these units? thanks.... turboelky...:D

Usually, the one with the cylindrical canister looking thing is the accumulator. It'll store I think 70% assist, then like 30%, then 10% braking assist should the power steering go out, or you lose power. That's the one I would use. I know that they use the C3 'vette master cylinder when you've converted your rear end to disk. And the older Buick hydroboost setup or the stock disck/drum setup.

very cool, do they sell those accumulator's still? if you know, and where they sell them? I got the high perssure line off a donor car, but the others were cut. But those are just on a barb end anyways, I can work something out with that. If I put on a c3 vette master cylinder, would it be too much for rear drums? I want to toss the vaccume brakes on the elky, both master cylinder and booster are old and in need of replacement, and I have both hydroboost setups and pedal since I heard they are different pedals. Any help would help:D and thanks for your reply Robbie!

There's a guy, powerbrakebob on here that sells the hydroboost setup. I got it because I've had the pm fail on me without warning. The vacuum setup on my last TR was ok. I guess I'll try the hb setup now for comparison's sake.
The following stuff was sent to me by Paul. Awesome chap. Check it out, let me know if I can be of further help. Am putting in my hb setup next weekend.
