I spoke with a lawyer and he told me to take him to court under the lemon law?

Generally, if the car has been repaired 4 or more times for the same defect within the warranty period and the defect has not been fixed, the car qualifies as a Lemon.

Was there a warranty that came with the car? I cant imagine so. And Lemon laws are usually reserved for new cars not used but some states do have laws pertaining to used cars but again its usually reserved for a repair of the same part 4 or more times.

First, the deal was for your car and $4000, not your car and $1000 dollars. The deal didnt go down as it should have in the first place. Neither cars should have changed hands.

2nd, the trans exploding, and the blown HG, you had money to fix that stuff and still had a balance due on the car? Did you to have a payment arrangement? Did you follow it, or stray when you had to dump unexpected money into the car?

3rd, the stolen/repoed/drama part of the story is missing. That makes it look bad on your part from an outsider looking in. We can clearly see parts are missing, and draw our own conclusions as to why.

You and I have had words before, I would suggest not doing business with friends if you want to keep them as friends when dealing with used parts, cars, or racing items. If you do keep it down to low dollar amounts the can be written off as a loss in the event it doesn't work out. I, as well as others know these cars don't blow HG from normal driving unless you overheat it badly, or boost it with poor tune or faulty parts.

In the end its your situation and not ours. I will be honest and say after seeing all the "drama" unfold with your car situation and the way you look at/handle things. Many will steer clear of you to avoid issues.:redface:

You and I have had words before and that makes your opinion meaningless to me. As I stated earlier, I only posted this for a few friends that were asking. I agree with not doing business with friends but why say that? Thats obviously the lesson learned here. I didn't want this thread to bring all this crap back but I again, should have known better. Jam, as for you personaly, you may be a good guy and whatever happened in the past....I apologize. As far as the headgaskets blowing, I know these cars in and out. I agree with what you had to say but the car had been driven hard by the previous owner. I have nothing to hide, and have always been honest about the situation. I didn't mention the repo situation because it was not a repo. That is the most personal part of the whole thing. Also, as for people steering clear of me? For every 1 person that dis-likes me here there are 10 that are my friends. Again, please no drama. There is no need for it here.

I have no clue to be honest, this is just what I was told. I would never go through with it anyway. I don't want anyone to go to court. This happened in Indiana tho, maybe there are different laws there? I made sure to have a couple people with me when I was getting the car tho so I had witnesses to all that was implied. There was a warranty on the transmission.

like i said, to strip good parts off and sell them individually to make more money on top of selling the car. the guy probably made more than he rightfully should have. the car should have been in the same condition BUT given he had the title that made it his car. i think it's kind of a dick move but that's open to interpretation.

and as desperate as i am for a set of wheels i wouldnt buy those for a dollar. yuk

just saying no thought was put into how they make the car look. the back ones ruin it. looks like they stick out a bit too far given how far in the front ones are set. HORRIBLE.

i always thought the objective was to make the fronts and backs look similar in how they fit in the wheel wells to give a clean appearance. i guess not for some people.

i still say he sold the ones on it off and slapped these on just to keep driving it around as i'm pretty sure they were bought for a different car originally.

Those rims and tires look more like they're off of an old 68-70 GTO...or a 70 Chevelle SS....actually not a bad looking rim, but that's my opinion.

Haha, I told you I was gonna need parts Dave! With any luck it will be easier than it looks? As far as the mags go, they are not my style at all. They are 10in and they were said to be old old old? I don't know but if anyone is interested in the mags or shifter they are up for grabs
