My wife had an uncle (Age 47)

Just get diagnosed with Colon Cancer and it is in his lymph Nodes as well as liver and kidney's.

They gave him a dose of Chemo Sunday and just sent him "home".

They are saying by this weekend he will not be able to go to the restroom without help and will be gone by Easter.

So Sad!!

Has anyone ever heard of a cancer this aggressive?? The last couple months he didnt "feel right" and then his bowels (sp) started acting up and then wham.

They did determine is isnt a "heriditary" type of cancer but rather a cancer caused by outside conditions. Example is Chemicals or something??

he was a homebuilder so who knows.

Sorry for the ramblings just kinda in shock about this!

cancer

so sorry to hear. tell them to check out.rainbow minerals .net they had some folks swear that there stuff helped many folks with cancer. its worth a look see.

Same thing happened to my uncle but he was in his late 80s. He said he didn't feel right for about a month and finally went to the Dr. He was dead about 2 weeks later from colon cancer.

Man sorry to hear and prayers are with him

Once it is in his Lymph Nodes its a done deal, the liver is bad enough but the nodes, maybe a month so get everything in order.
He doesnt have time to get into denial about it. Yes it would be nice for second opinion but while we waited for appointment on a second opinion is was all over so maybe get everything in order and he needs to start saying his goodbyes just in case..sounds kind of final and dont mean it to be harsh but sometimes theres nothing worse then leaving someone behind who says "I never got a chance to say goodbye"

Oh he is not in denial about it at all; he understands he might not make Easter:(

He is already almost Bed Ridden after only knowing about it one week.

Thanks for the Prayers guys;

Ty

it's not uncommon. My ex-wife's sister was finally diagnosed with liver cancer in October 05, told her 6 months maybe 8: we buried her Dec 24th. She was also 47.

lost two sisters to cancer last year. one lived 6 months, the other was gone in 7 weeks. They were both in their early 60's.

cancer

I was at my cousin funeral on tuesday,He was only 39.His eleven year old son was crying next to the casket.very sad.We live one day at a time, and never know when its our time.Best wishes for you and your family!

Ty:
I am so sorry to hear of this, Ty, if there is anything that I can do to help, please drop me an E-mail or PM. You and your family will be in my prayers. Keep the faith, Ty, things like this always happen for a reason even though we don't understand it.

So sorry to hear the bad news, tell him to get a to do bucket list like the movie, things to do before you kick the bucket and do as much as possible on the list, this is sad so young and full of life, I hope he doesnt suffer much, my prayers are with him and his family..

That really sucks. 47 years old. That is way to young. The c word is nasty. My mom survived breast cancer my dad had prostate cancer. My girlfriend lost her aunt to pancreatic cancer a year ago.I was in this weekend for shortness of breath. Starting to do long list of tests and im 39:eek: god bless him and pray for no pain If it helps the told my brother-in-laws dad he had 6 months to live. He lasted 17 years with meds. he was out on the course golfing. chemo will take alot out of him, make him tired.

This may sound kind of rude, but after watching someone die slowly from cancer, you will start to think that fast moving cancer is the way to go. It is a brutal way to die.

Sorry to hear it Ty.

Bob,
Yeah its a tough call, My dad had massive heart attack and was dead before he hit the floor and he didnt have a chance to say good bye and neither did I and that will always be a very empty feeling in me

So its like alot of pain but say good bye to everyone or go quick with no formality's

my mom fought colon cancer for ten years died two day's after her 53 birth day. nine months later my mother inlaw died of brain cancer , she lasted less than two months after finding it.

Very sorry to hear about your wife's uncle. Cancer is a word I think we all fear. My father lost a twenty year battle to non-hodgkins lymphomia August 9, 2005, and my mother passed August 12, 2007 in a house fire. There is no good way to go, I remember seeing my father in an isolation unit at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Tx. He had been in there for six weeks, and his words to me were very simple. "I am still alive and will not quit fighting."
My sister is an oncologist in Birmingham, AL, if there is anything we can do to help please do not hesitate to contact me.

Our thoughts are prayers are with you and your family. Having recently gone through this I can only say make the time you have left together count.
Mike
