Been through this 2 times in my family. I have also lost 2 close friends the very same way. Going through the same thing with my father in law right now. They gave him 2 months to live 1 month ago. My cousin was 30 years old and passed away 2 weeks ago of a freak accident. Here one day and gone the next. It is a terrible thing when you just feel bad , go to the doctor and leave with that kind of news. My grandpa had the same cancer at 80 years old. He was in the shape of a 60 year old we thought. He was driving everyday up to the point of going to the doctor and gone 30 days later. We kept him at home and he passed away with all the loved ones at his side. I can't say enough about hospice they really helped us alot. I really miss him. Cherish the time you have left. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours.

Thanks a lot guys; it is much harder on my wife but I look in the mirror and I am 39. Guess we need to live each day to the fullest.

I;m sorry for your sadness, I am lucky enough to have my brother for a while longer, ( he's 60) no words can describe your sorrow.

as a side note, my bro was never religious, but now donates 2-3 days a week working at the hospital to (as he says) keep in good standings! LOL
he says its good for the soul.

I lost a brother to the same cancer. He made it about 11 months after he was diagnosed. He was 42. Same age that I am now. Prayer said for you and yours.

Thanks for the support guys--

Here is a cut and paste of an email we rec'd tonight................

Just wanted to update you.
I just talked to Mom. Arlene was watching Rod this afternoon so Ruthie could get a little rest. (Ruthie is up all night every night taking care of Rod)
He quit breathing and they had to take him to the hospital. While at the hospital they took his bilirubin test and it is over 5. That means no more treatment will be given. The boys have been called to come home. That is all I know so far. He is back at home again.
We love you.
Mom and Dad

Thank You for your prayers guys; Rod passed last night at 2AM last night............
