I'd stay where you are for a little time after you get out. This way you can save some money to help you with the move. I moved from TN back to TX 4.5 years ago and it was almost 2K and I did it myself. It aint cheap to move.

dont worry... I have some money stashed away:biggrin:

I hope it's at least 5K. That will last you about 1.5 to 2 months if you're careful with it.

i don't think you'll need that much unless you have high expectations and spending habits jobwise it really depends on what you expect to find. Only draw back is there is a big hispanic or mexican population and the wages most places want to pay are min wage. If you can try and find a business there where you live and apply but let them know your moving to texas and if they have any openings. you can rent a small apt for about 400-500 per month and utilities vary on you. for 5K you can make it here for several months before you get desperate and take a job flipping burgers. like i said come down and submit some apps and check out the area that you may be comfortable. most young people get homesick after awhile but its not hard to make freinds here.

Think about it datant. Getting an apartment (first and last months rent and deposit), electric, water, ect. It will take a good chunk to start out

I guess so. $5k isn't much without income. Good luck. I highly recommend Texas over California, even though I've not lived in Cal. I have visited and it seemed pretty expensive to me.

Charlie needs to learn how to spell tamale.

I'm originally from Connecticut, moved here when I was 2. (DFW)

I am now in agreement with my mom.

The hottest summers are in CT and the coldest winters are in TX - the dry wind here cuts right through you.

I have enjoyed the hell out of this state and I have been to all of them. No matter what, Texas will always be "home base". I left here for 10 years, returned and didn't skip a beat.

If Texas ever secedes....it will kick the shi! out of all the other ones just on principal. I will gladly be a part of that. Especially when we use high explosives to blow Kalifornia into the Pacific. Damn model for emissions regulation.

LOL I know.:) Just remember when you were young, dumb, and full of c*m. LOL My one shot.

I know. Now I got older , had four children and am not sure I'm any smarter. Had a lot of fun on the way though.

If you move to Corpus, look up Phil Underwood. An absolute GN guru. AKA Pacemaker on the gn.org site. Nice guy too.
