Hi everyone i am new here and i hope some one can help me figure out why my fuel pump keeps blowing 30 amp fuses i just put in a new pump about 2 weeks ago and it ran fine and then it started to blow the fuses but i was able to put in another fuse and drive the car for a little while but now it blows the fuse immediately and i dont know where to start i looked for and burnt or bare wires and nothing also my 87 GN had 4 auto meter guages right above the glove box where the GN plaque is and i read something about sometimes the guages have caused a short can someone please help me i really need this car it is my main car for now.Thanks also any one can call me at 203-715-4499 or email me at grandnationaldave@yahoo.com
 
Is the FP hot wired?
If so, I would disconnect the hot wire and reconnect the factory wireing and see if it still blows the fuse.

I did disconnect the hot wire and used the factory wiring and it worked for a week or 2 Thanks
