I need help with this Boost gauge

At Idle my Vac/Boost gauge is reading 5psi of boost and at WOT it reads 26psi of boost and when shut off the engine it goes up 14psi. Any idea why its doing this, it a AutoMeter Vac/Boost gauge

Sounds like you need a new one. they do go bad. Wrenched on a GN a few years ago and his was oppsite. He was spiking over 20 psi and the gauge said 14.

I bought my Autometer boost only gauge about six months ago and it now reads nothing. I guess sometimes you get a lemon.

Contact Autometer direct. They have a very good Customer Service department and should take very good care of you on the fix. They will want to know where you got it and how old it is. If it's reading positive boost pressure at idle and way too high under WOT with no signs of detonation or running lean, I would suspect it of being bad. The turbo won't build boost at idle in park with your foot off the gas. Gauge sounds defective or out of calibration too me. Those types of gauges should also have the needle at or as close to zero as possible when the car is off.
