Here are the symptoms...

If I go WOT, the tach will go up to about 3650 rpm and the car will jerk, it won't shift. It's as if the engine is bouncing off the rev limiter. If I off the throttle a liitle, it'll shift.

If I start from a stop, or a 20-30 mph roll and go WOT, the acceleration lacking, and when it gets to around 3650 rpm, the problem occurs again.

Part-throttle acceleration and shifting seems to be OK.

I'm not really sure it's the transmission, but if I had to guess I would say that's where the problem lies. What do you think?

i have a similar issue with mine....shifts like a champ during part throttle or if you roll into WOT. i'm gonna try a converter swap first before i get into the tranny. you may have the same problem, converter is not holding the pressure of the fluid anymore.

Well, you're probably going to think I'm an idiot, but I believe the problem was a boost leak (intercooler hoses). It ran and shifted a whole lot better once I tightened them up.

A boost leak will cause a tranny not to shift???

Sure ... if the car wouldn't get over 3650 rpm's at wot because of the boost leak and the trans should shift at about 5100 rpms at wot then it wouldn't ever shift would it grasshopper? ;)

I don't know, but once I corrected it all the symptoms that I thought were pointing to a tranny problem went away.
