Thanks to Michelle in the blue 67 Camaro on Sassyracing.com.

She and her brother were doing the videos from the grandstands.

I have some videos, but they were from behind to see if my car was leaving straight...most of the time;)

On my solo run against Joe's '56 Chevy, I hit the rev limiter at 8900 rpms shifting into 3rd gear. Nice to have a MoTeC on board:)

On Saturday:
I qualified 3rd in my class with an 8.5 at 159 with my best 60foot of 1.30. Not bad for stock rear suspension and 10.5 x 29.5W tires. We made another pass with more boost but my ET slowed to an 8.59 at 161 with a 60 foot of 1.35. We were done for the day.

On Sunday:
We strolled into the Bellagio from late lunch, we skipped on the 3rd round of qualifying and we brought my car back from the hotel to get it ready for the first round of eliminations. We were a bit surprised that Mike with the maroon '57 showed up and qualified 2nd with an 8.4.

My 1st round of eliminations against a 72 blown Camaro from
Colorado. His name was Dave. Nice guy, dropped by and expressed a few positive compliments along with his crew. He couldn't make a full pass. I ran an 8.88. But I had to let off 3rd gear because I wasn't pointed straight when I started off the line. Dave aborted his pass at mid track.

My 2nd round was against the #1 qualifier Joe Barry who was driving an orange '56 Chevy. He has a 3-stage nitrous system
on a big block Chevy. It's a full tube chassis and SFI certified.
It's a beautiful car and also sports a Lenco tranny. I staged for a good 2 minutes when his crew guy tripped the lights with his foot. I should have left the line. The starter backed me off the staging beams as I shook my head in protest. At this time, they found water dripping from Joe's engine bay.
I got the automatic win and ran a leisurely 8 second pass and I
didn't have to pull the 'chute.

My final run against the Mike the "Stickman" Pritchard in the
maroon '57 Chevy wasn't without it's problems for me.
My line lock solenoid locked up and I couldn't complete my rolling
burnout. Luckily I turned off power to my accesories and stabbed the brakes a few times to get it to release pressure to my front brakes. Still no rolling burnout tho'. I got up to the line to start spooling the T-76's turbos and the tree went down with my .455 light to his .511. Yes! However, my 60 foot was the worse of the evening with a 1.44 to his 1.40. I was doing 130 in the 1/8th mile and his '57 was doing 129, but he had already caught me with better traction. I saw his car in my periphery as we shifted
through the gears. We were side-by-side all the way until about 200 feet from the finish line. At that point I saw a
small/quick bursting orange glow from his hood scoop and...he dropped back. He ran an 8.9 at 129 to my 8.7 at 160 and I lit the win light!!!

My car weighs 3610lb with me in it.

At Vegas my wife, my Dad and his girlfriend, my #1 pit crew member from Idaho, Shawn Miles and his wife Heather, Peter and Jen from the SVB crew were there to cheer me on.

And thanks to:
John Gianoli at Reggie Jacksons did the entire refreshening of my
twin turbo small block Chevy.
John Mackenzie at Fasttrackperformance.com for all the parts that
make my car hit the track with consistency.
Thanks to Len at Performance Transmission of Las Vegas for his great hospitality and last minute use of his lift.
John Wilde for relaying the latest tech information on suspensions and the use of his Art Car 8" converter.

BTW. Special thanks to Alex for use of his F350XLT turbo Diesel
duelie, tow vehicle. Nancy and I were pampered with XM satillite radio, GPS navigation, DVD player with THX sound:)

That is my boy!!!
See you this weekend for my bilsteins =)

Congrats Chris!

You have a badass car and are a down to earth kind of guy...... That is a good match IMO:)

BTW, you should bring that baby down to Orlando for the World Street Nats next month (and bring John Wilde with you):D

Steve,

I was asking him about drag radial
It is too far for us to come to play.
I would love to come and watch one year.
With my mom's passing this year and having
become the administrator of her estate and power
of attorney for my grandmother, the time will not
be there this year.

Chris went to orlando last year or the year before to watch.
It was great he has Tony Christian flipping him off on video =)

I understand completely John! My mom has been through the power of attorney thing with two of my family members within the last 4 years and it is NOT easy and takes up a lot of time!!! I wish you the best of luck with it because I've seen first hand that it is a lot of work and frustration at times.......

Hopefully you and Chris can make it next year:)

Later:cool:

There are not a lot of turbo regals that are winning any kind of races, regardless of v-6 or v-8. Chris is the original owner of his WE4. His has raced it with a stock block, stock block race motor, stage 2 twin turbo duttweiler and now a duttweiler twin turbo sbc. It was a natural evolution for a racer trying to compete and not just run a specific time. If you noticed Conley does not run a v-6 anymore. He runs a TT BBC. Guess what, he was the national record holder in pro street last year. Alan Witter who won races with his buick several years ago has a turbo small block waiting for the chassis to be done. I guess the common denominator is that if you choose to run in fast non buick specific class and you want to compete, you need a really lite car or more motor.
Since the Mustang guys started running turbos how many shoot outs have we won???? None that I can remember.
The fastest small tire mustangs at 3000lbs are faster that our full tube cars at 2500lbs. Bill Anderson is going to change that when he goes into the 6s, but a 10.5W car may beat him there with an extra 500-600lbs.

I went to Orlando in 2001. It was awesome! My car can't hang with the east coast big boys until I step up my traction issues  and turn up the boost.

If only Wilde man can go further than a 30 mile radius from his house, that would be something...lol :p

Thanks for the luv tho'. There will always be haters wherever you go.
