Anyone know a good source for the IAC angle boss? Helping a friend trying to get his new motor up and running.
We couldn't get the idle down below 1500. Scratched our heads for quite some time, and with the hose off of the throttle body (mafless system), there was a huge (HUGE) amount of air being pulled into the IAC hole in front of the throttle blade. Removing the IAC and making some measurements, we discovered that the IAC pintle is much smaller than the seat inside the angle boss.
We put a stock IAC mount on, and the idle is now controllable, but need to get a good angle boss to clear the big turbo and inlet hose.

Definitely call Champion as they make this IAC valve adapter plate.

That's the one that looks like the most elegant solution. We can use the stock IAC boss, which we know works.

Hey Russ have used the Bop? I like the one-piece construction, but is it any good? Chris

We have th BOP unit in stock, have one on my own car, sold many, never had a problem. Champion is good, we have those too, but why have one more gasket?

That's why I like it too and the only one I install. Not saying the other one is bad, it's not!!! Don't get me wrong.........I don't need another pissin match like the other thread...:D

Kinda, its basically the new IAC used on the Series II V6's. It'd take more than just a physical adapter but also a wiring one too. Since I'm going to be running an L67 Series II V6 engine management system.... I already have that style connection on the harness, now I need the one to get the IAC onto the stock style TB.

Looks to me like the Champion unit is indexable. The other one (which I have) is not. Does anyone know for sure?
Conrad

That's the one I just installed. I got mine from SE Performance...I guess Champion is the mfg.

The only problem I had with it was the 2 locating pins on the adapter that have to fit into the locating holes on the TB were too big. A few minutes grinding with my Dremel and they fit.

Exactly, thanks for finding it for me, I hope they just sell the block since I don't need the rest.

Just for the record Mike, I will be contacting you in the near future when I'm ready to buy. I really need to do something now that I have the 4" intake. I'm a strong believer in supporting a vendor who continually produces innovative, new technology for our Buicks.
