Trans was acting funny no 2-1 kickdown, shudder ect it was 2 seconds from burning up i bet. Pulled the pan and found this in there. Pulled the VB and cleaned up the tv valve trans seems fine now??? or is it??

Is it metal or a piece of friction material? Doesn't look good either way.
 
Is the piece steel? Bearing I'm thinking. Being that big of a piece. It didn't go through the vb. I'd pull the trans. It's on its last leg.

That's a piece of a thrust washer. Needs to come out...most likely low reverse support.
 
I think some metal got into the tv system making it act up thus alerting me to this problem. Well its back to the drawing board, its gets kinda cold on the ground late at night sometimes.:cool:
 
My bet is one the LR thrust washer. Doesn't look like a snap ring. It's gotta come out. The thrust is going to be out of spec soon if not already.

Thanks for the reply. the trans is out allready, just have to get time to pull it apart again to see this years mystery.
