Thanks Brian, I didn't know his name.

greeneyegi - at this site http://www.vortexbuicks-etc.com/ go under "trouble shooting" look for the "no start section"

ive gone through that tree to the t,im at tree number 3 where it states no spark at any plugs.and it says test for an open cicuit between c3i & 839,which i do have power.its either the connector isnt contacting on the plug or the ign box is bad?thats what im getting from that.

Double check the CCCI fuse.

its good, pulled and checked for voltage going across the fuse.
the car had an intermittant stummble and run rough patch here and their .it happened more and more often.so yesterday i figured ide replace the ignition module, ive got lifetime warantee, put in a new one,it started right up.shut her down, came back an hour later to take off and she wouldnt start.thats where this all began.
my wires are really good shape,no heat or age cracks or anything like that.

This was the primary reason I went to Bob's TR6 setup. You have to keep enough parts in your trunk if your gonna drive these wonderfully finicky cars, and while the TR6 has lots of nice features, reliability is paramount. Ditto for the LT1 and Translator.

I went through the same thing. Trough testing I found that the return voltage back to the pcm was below the threshold that the pcm could recognize. So just because you flash a test light doesnt mean it is any good. I found a Delco one and all is good. That was 4 years ago. If i ever have this one go out I will be going with Bobs Tr6. If you need I will look up the pins and voltage to check.

ill try that check,i had two of these ignition modules tested at the store they came back good, please let me know what the voltage test is

Open the glove box up and check the big connector with the foam on it.

Pink wire with black stripe.

Wiggle it and try to start it or if it starts see if it stalls when you move the wires.

It's the second power feed to the CCCI module.

It's hard to miss right behind the glove box door which folds right down when you unhook the metal clip on the left hand side of it.

Yep, did the same thing on the ones that I had.
Install, no start, cuss during removal, go test, pass test at store, reinstall, no start.........
I will take a look at the diagram I have and see which wire and the voltage to check for. Jon

Just another question. Do you have any Gn buddies you could borrow a known good module and see if the issue goes away?

ill try to get make a few calls to see if someone does, ive been at this for a while now any help would be great, the tree states i should have 6-9 volts across the cam sensor and crank sensors, ive got 5.4.
i fail on step 9 through14 on the tree.all no's

Stock cam sensor cap?

Has the crank sensor ever been replaced?

When you replace the module and still have the problem it's time to take a close look at the 2 above items.

these are the same ones ive had since ive had the car.theoretically if those parts werent working,i wouldnt get a signal for the injectors to pulse.they past the test on the tree also.
their is a phone number on the box for the control module,im going to ask why the resistance in the module is so high its signal passing through the module, on all three i purchased, is going from 11.8v to 5v,the test says it should be 6-9v,all i can guess is the ecm isnt getting a strong enough signal.

O no my friend. They can work and have intermittent problems. I deal with it all the time.

I just spoke with the tech at the wells company,he said all the GM car's in this era were a 5 v sensor reference, not 6_9 volts,so the tree I'm workin. With is wrong.
he said to check the computer, which I did replace too, same result.

which sensor should I replace first,I don't want to get f'dworse than I am?

Pull the crank sensor and look close to see if the wheel made contact.

it dosnt look like any contact, while i unplugged the sensor i turned it over, the noid didnt light any more, put it back on and it lit like it was supposed to,would that be considered a good sensor?
the noid starts lighting after a few revolutions real faint at first then strong.

If your getting injector pulse and spark it should start. Does it act like it wants to start?? You sure there's fuel pressure?

I have no spark,I bought a fuel injector void, that's what tells me I've got fuel injector pulse,

Replace the crank sensor. Get ac delco. You will need a new bracket as well.

ACD# 213-292 Crank Sensor
ACD#213-280 Bracket

You will prolly have to order it. I would get a ACD module as well.

i just found someone with a couple original model coils, and ign boxes for 25$ a piece,im gonna pickem up saturday and try em.hes said if they dont work hell give me back my money, cant beat that.
