Just used to the 87 setup looks a hell of a lot better too and I would like to run in the 10's one day.

I know what u mean I have a block and heads I will convert one day also, but I will keep a complete stock set up for the car

Go with the plug/wire test look physically for spark if ur good there then I would start with the firing order and cam sensor check voltage 0-2 volts on the cam sensor it should be good although I run mine at like 5v
