I was going to wire my digital fuel pressure gauge to the ignition wire. What I thought was the thick red wire under the column I was wrong. It has constant voltage going to it. Am I on the wrong wire or is somethig wrong with my ignition wire? Thanks!

Scott

P.S. By the way anyone know where I can get a complete wiring diagram of an 86 Buick Grand National???

Pink--Ignition
Brown--Accessory

There is also tap at the fuse box, that is the same going to the ignition. But allways fuse your connections.

When you say fuse my connections, what size fuses should I use and where can I get "easy install" in line fuses? What type should I get?

thnks

Scott

I would fuse the ignition wires you tap. 3-5 amps should be adequate. Because the ignition wire you are taping at directly at the ignition or the fuse box is not fused allready and draws alot of current, so if you did'nt fuse you wire going to the meter and if it evers shorts or grounds out the wire its going to burn all the way to where its connected and thats how cars catches on FIRE!

Go to a local parts store, radio shack or even a stereo shop to get a fuse holder (18g) and fuse at where you tapping off at (closest at the power source).

Ok thanks bud, so I running the fuse in between the connecting point and the ignition wire correct? Im not fusing the ignition wire itself right? And lastly, I dont mean to get off the subject, but I noticed your signature, and with your setup, you should be able to do better than 12.6! I see your 60ft is pretty bad, but just curious, especially with 110. Thats a nice setup. I would expect 11's? Thanks for the help!!!

Yes! But fuse closest to the ignition source.
