Well I bought a 2003 subaru WRX sedan from a dealer back in November. The car runs and drives straight, but I recently put it up on a lift and it looks like the car was involved in a pretty bad rear end collision. Quite a few rear suspension parts replaced and a small kink in the body/frame. Does anyone have a idea what kind of legal recourse I have on the dealership that I bought it from?

Well someone did a carfax for me and nothing showed up as far as accidents go. I'm going to call the states attorneys office tomorrow and see what I can do. The car was sold as a certified car so I think I may have a good chance of making them buy the car back. When on a lift it's obvious the car has been in a wreck so the mechanic should not have missed it and it should not have been certified. I'll let you know how it turns out.

you have had the car 4 months.. what would stop "you" from having an accident and trying to go back on them sayin it happened before you got it ??

Let's hear it for the accuracy of Carfax again!

just for grins, my dealership used CARFAX for a few months....we found it was almost 70% inaccurate! If its made after 1996, I can use GM's internal carfax-like program and find the dirt on any vehicle.

Carfooey

carfax is nothing more than BS, very inaccurate, very misleading.
and they DO NOT stand behind there waranty.
Bought clean corvette, only to find it was a total loss, and carfax threatened to sue ME???
don't waste your money!
