Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know that I received my first college acceptance letter today. It's official. This boy is going to college. University of Hartford sent a letter of acceptance today. They also gave me a pretty good scholarship! I am still waiting to hear from Boston University, UMass Amherst, Dartmouth, Quinnipiac, and Wesleyan though. I have to say, all of you have helped me out over the past years, even if you didn't realize it. I figured, hell, I better get a good education to be able to afford working on these damn Buicks! Kidding of course. Thanks for all your support throughout the years guys!

Zack

Thanks guys! I am most likely going to enter a Pre-Med program. Most of the schools I applied to have one, and will help me reach my goal! Call me, Doctor Nix :D.

Im pre-med too lol I take my MCATS in June... yeah its tough but totally worth it. If you ever need any help when you get to organic chem and beyond or scheduling let me know!

Congratulations, i imagine you got some proud parents. While i dont have much to add on the buick side of things, my 2 cents of advice is dont have any kids...atleast for a looong time, good luck!

Nice to see other young guns on here...I'm feeling left out, I am only going for Mechanical Engineering :D...All I gotta say is if you think you dont like the school your in, transfer young. I waited and lost about a year worth of credits because they "werent similar enough." Needless to say now that im at Temple University, I cant wait to get into the field. Its going to get hard and comically impossible at times but just look at it like this, when your done your car will be the shit cause you can make it as fast as you want it to be.

quinnipiac and wesleyan are pretty close to me like 2 towns away. hartford isnt that far but i dont really care for that city. if your in the area look me up.

23 and no college for this guy! Military right out of High School. Best decision of my life! Good luck to you and always remember, if school isn't your thing, join up and make pretty good money. I bought my Buick when I was 21 and bought my house when I was 22

That's great news! Shop around for your loan. My son diddly dallied and ending up having to get a private loan for his Junior year. The intrest rate was much higher than public loans. I did 2 years for him and he was ressponsible for the other 2. Now he's at Pratt Whitney, making more money than me. Good thing, he's going to need it when he takes care of me when I retire.:p

I'm 28, got a Mechanical Engineering degree from Penn State. Anything in engineering or the med field are tough but worth it! My sister teaches English at Quinnipiac too!

Congrats! Keep up the good work!
Take it from an older dude (35)...I went back to school after getting fed up with the people I worked with. I quit the engineering dept. after 2 yrs because a change in management. Couldnt find a (good) engineering job without the degree. So, back at it again. This time I'm finishing!

Best advise I can give is finish college. You will never regret it and those 4yrs+ will stay with you till the day you die.

Nice I just applied for graduation!!! Only took me a casual decade :p Good luck and remember along with being educated it's also who you know. Look into internships early, they are extremely benificial!

The most important piece of valuable information in this thread after staying in school. I know this because without any internships, i had to go through an agency to find a job. Not getting paid what i could be and no insurance. Even if an internship has certain class requirements, apply regardless. They most likely will take you.

Congratulations!!!

Quinnipiac is real close to me, but I think the Med. school is gonna be in North Haven a town over.

U. of H. leave the Buick home. ;)

Congratulations! Going to and graduating from college was one of the most important (and fun) turning points in my life. I wish you the best of luck.
