I've been on quit a roll this year down sizing, didn't think I could do it, or part with some of them..but now I'm ready to keep going :)
Sold my business back in Feb. after 13 years of working for myself, now I work for the man..literally, Warren Buffet at BNSF :)
Sold my rent house back in August.
Sold the TTA TTop car last month after owning it almost 12 years..that was tough.
Just sold my LT4 powered Silverado...that was really hard after 18 years and 2 motor transplants in it!

Wife texted me today saying the security guard wanted to buy her '95 TA vert, sold her to ask for an offer :)
Starting to have some room around here now, looking for something new now!

so you sold your wife? what are wives going for these days? i have never had one so i dont know what used ones are going for? lol JK :)

i have often thought about selling it all or most and moving to somewhere else. its still a possibility!!! nothing really worth staying here for

Just trying to lighten up, dont have time for anything anymore, it has been fixing something on rent house or an old car/truck any time i had free time and was getting tired of it. Not going to buy anything older than a 2010 model at this point, been driving an 18 or 17 year old car for a daily driver. Now Im driving the 99 TA may stay driving it for a while...see what the wife may want, she is leaning towards a Caddy

They go for little to nothing, the problem is they are very expensive to keep around and keep running :D

Not to mention no replacement parts and when they go haywire it's easier to let them go.:p

Are we related?????
That sounds very familiar except I went with CN.

Who are BNSF and CN? Are you guys stock brokers? Or are these railroads? What kind of work do you do?

Rob, you are a true enthusiast..... Sometimes you just have to move on.... I'm confident your stable will be full again with some new stuff youll like just as much

man i tell ya, i have gone through the same thing over here. sold 3 of my 5 toys. not driving them enough and full maintenance schedule was just burning me out. It was tough to do and I was attached to each one but now that they are gone I have moved on, started a business making custom trunk kits with the money from the cars and enjoying life once again! With any luck we will have a nice g-body trunk kit ready to go before the holidays!

don' let em get ya down, when you are ready you can dive back in; the trick is to not get caught up with the disease again! I picked up a new daily driver; much nicer than I would usually spend on myself; and it keeps me very satisfied on the day to day. when i drive my older cars; i always have an ear out for what i have to fix next. no longer do i have to live like that :)

good luck!

Don't know why i havent been getting alerts that there were posts here, but yeah railroads, we do alot with CN also.
I'm in IT, specially am the communications lead for any data going in / out of the comany to external partners, mostly EDI related transactions.

Hey John how have you been? How is SA treating you? We may have something new by the end of Jan, went and test drove a couple of cars this past w/e.

Hey, get yourself a 1926 Model T Ford...........that's what I used to have and drove 1964-1971........they come in BLACK, two door coupe, and are really, really fast (downhill only if the incline is over 33 degrees:D) And so easy to take care of and fix............that is, if you don't mind taking out the interior floor, then taking off the top of the transmission to adjust the three bands once a week..........plus, you have to take the four wooden coils out of the engine compartment and keep them in the oven overnight to have them warm for start-up on cold mornings, (like I did) Mom didn't like that too much when she woke up early to get us ready for school and found four Model T coils roasting in her oven...... . But I was a nice boy.

The engine is only missing two cylinders as per a Grand National, but just close your eyes and pretend.

I am in the same boat right now, have not been happy for a while now. I have been a mechanic most of my life and love working on cars (to a point). Between my wife and i we have 10 vehicles and really only need 3. Seems like i have no free time to do what i want there is always a vehicle to fix or something on the honey do list. I work for the fire dept and only work 10 days a month so i figured i would build and partout cars for a fun hobby. It is no longer any fun, i work on them so much i cant enjoy them. So i will be downsizing myself as i think i would be happier with one nice toy along with my wifes and my daily driver. Just dont have time for the family when having to deal with customers wasting my time. Life is just too short to be working all the time just to have more stuff. Good luck with your downsizing.

Greg, just narrow down a few, get rid of the ones that either cause you the most trouble (the truck in my case) or the ones you just don't drive much (the TTA) in my case...I had plenty of other cars that I really enjoyed driving, the TTA was a show car..no time for that. Life is so much easier already, and I like the extra room!
You will be so glad you did, not to mention have a little extra cash in the pocket.

I just drove it yesterday! But if I had my way I would be calling you! Daughter is having a baby so it won't be going to her anytime soon, and since my wife broke both her knees last year, she hasn't even tried to drive it since the clutch takes some pressure to push in all the way, been a year and a half since she has even been in it.....so who knows..yet she says, "Lets sell everything except the GN, the '79 TA and the Dodge SRT10, and buy 2 new cars to drive every day"..so she is still hanging on to it.

I'll be up in your area this week if you just want to meet up and chat Greg. The doc's up in Ennis and I still have to visit him to varify everything went right with the hernia surgury. PM me if you want and I'll see what I can do.:D

Get a GN or something close Ty.:D The maybe you can be a full fledged memeber for a change rather than just a JOHNDEERE GN wannabe.:p
