The heads are staying stock.

While you have it apart.
At least mill the head.
Lifters springs etc.
With a strong bottom end you may regret later not porting the head.

Would .010 require new pistons also? I suppose that what, if anything gets taken out of the bores is up to them. Point is, if I need new pistons, I might as well stroke. Ideally, I'll stick with the stock pistons and standard stroke.

I recently built a relatively big dollar motor, 3.6 Porsche air cooled 6. I don't want to go down another slippery slope.

The engine parts have been dropped at the shop. At first glance they dont think the bores can't remain the way they are. Likely going .020 over. So new pistons will be part of the rebuild. Short block will consist of a new GN1 Performance crank, stock rods with ARP bolts, new forged pistons...etc. cam choice is still to be determined but I'm looking for a roller cam close to stock grind.

This car came in a state of disassembly that I'm just starting to get my head around. I dont think I'm missing much but I am definitely missing the exhaust crossover pipe. It did come with two sets of headers though. I'll likely go with the stainless ones. Where can I find a crossover for them?

I was told they look like Chinese ATR knockoffs, that's all I've got. Something might need to be fab'd up or purchased and modified to work.

we have venders that will set you up with a set of headers and a down pipe that will fit with no conflict or fabrication needed that won't crack leak or burn a hole in a plastic finder.
your probably saying to yourself I don't have money burning a hole in my pocket. But trust me you will thank me after trying to fix old OE our CRAP Chinese three times.

Use the stock exh manifolds, have them welded if needed.
Use your original lifters with the stock cam in the same order they were in, if not go roller. If roller you need to cut the exh guides. Springs ect.
Is the crank internal balance? You will need a TA balancer and flex plate
AES should be fine, hopefully they have a Trq plate and V6 bob weights to balance the crank.
You really should have stuck with a stock crank, good line hone with main studs.
Can you show pictures of the spun bearing and crank?

In order to use the stock manifolds I'll need a crossover pipe, one never came with the car. That should be easy enough.
The original lifters are all out of order and border line in the trash can.
I have made no decision on cam yet. As cash allows, I'll get to that.
What would the benefit be to keeping and fixing the stock crank?
AES has the new crank, flex plate and original balancer. I'll just have to trust that they know what they're doing.

Recommendations:

1. Replace or abandon (do not use) the oil cooler in the radiator (metal from this failure will undoubtly be in there)
2. Your stock cam can be reground and reused (Delta Cam has reground and parkerized many stock cams for me. This is very budget friendly)
3. Replace the stock plastic cam thrust button with the rollerized version PIONEER 839008 (if you regrind your cam or go with a flat tappet replacement)
4. Inspect your front cover very closely for wear. Metal will undoubtedly have caused pump damage. Rework a good front cover with minimum clearances and porting for better oiling....this is very important for engine longevity!!!
5. Use Federal Mogul Main bearings 107M and 107M-1 to get main bearing clearance correct (I prefer .0017-.0019" on the mains)
6. Use Clevite CB1228P rod bearings. If you're lucky you can find CB1228P-1 bearings and selectively fit
7. Listen to Chuck.......Metal will be everywhere in that engine. CLEAN, CLEAN AND CLEAN. Or you will be doing the rebuild a second time.
