Is it needed? I going with Felpro 1200's and wonder if this pan is needed. Do you just cut off the old gaskets and fit it in with the new ones? The one that came out of my motor is stamped "Felpro" is this stock? Can you get the 1200's with a pan on it?

p.s. My new heads require the 1200's.

Thansk guys.

I would recommend cutting the valley pan off the old set, and using it. It sure saves getting a lot of oil sucked into the PCV!!!!

If if say FELPRO it's a stock type BUT NOT original.

Dale...I am currently going to be pulling my intake off to replace it with a ported one, and I was going to use the 1200's, but I was made aware that they do not have a pan.

From what I have heard from other board members Felpro Part # MS96033 has the same large ports as the 1200, but it also has the valley pan...I plan to use this when I re-do my intake..

I picked iy up yesterday at Pep-Boys for $26.00

Hope this helps you.

The "other board member" must have never compared the 96033 and the 1200's personally? The 1200's have larger ports.

However, if ported iron heads are used, the 96033 will most likely be the best choice. For aluminum heads with the larger ports, the 1200's are the ones that fit best.

The 96033 should be all anyone should need. If you open it up larger than that on stock iron heads you take your chances on leakage. I like the KISS method on this area.
