Been waiting 3years for Bob to send me the paperwork on a engine I bought off him. He wont een return my calls. Before he says I haven't talked to him in the last year I've been over in the Gulf. I've sent him countless emails an calls with no reply. When I bought the motor he said he would send me the paperwork. Mike

I would have responded sooner but I dont read this section of TB often. This was actually pointed out to me by another member of the web site.

You just recently(2 months ago not 3 years ago) contacted me asking for info on your engine which you stated you bought from me. I said I would give you any receipts I had on your engine(I save everything), but I needed more information on who you are and some details to your engine. Ive asked this several times. Ive responded to every e mail youve sent me. And as far as I know youve never replied back by e mail. Except on the TB board, your reply was its ".030" , thats it. How am I suppose to know what engine is yours based on that. I have no idea who you are. Youve never told me. Ive sold many engines over the last 3 years.

Ive posted many times at the end of my parts list that I "rarely" make it to the phone and that I rarely check my voice mail. To just keep trying. I posted this for a reason. You would have seen that when you got my number off TB and my e mail address. I am very busy and I only have so much time.
Also I have been Ill over the last month.

I have no problem giving you any receipts I have , as Ive stated several times, but I need more information. How did you expect me to know who you are? I need your name, your address, the date you purchased the engine, Was it a complete engine, and any info to the modifications to the engine. What company was the engine shipped thru and what was the teminal. I dont need all of this just enough to know which engine it was.

Why would I want the receipts to your engine? It doesnt make sense. E mail me at Fortune628@aol.com some info about you and the engine and I will confirm here that I received the e mail. Without that info theres nothing I can do to help you.

Engine

Well Bob,when I bought the engine you said the reciept would be sent to me in a week. I took you at your word. I called you countless times before I went to Iraq an you NEVER called me back? Now I've been back for a few months an I've tried leaving you messages again an NO REPLY! Looks like I'm going to return overseas in a few months an I'm going to sell the car. Its just been sitting an I don't wont it to go to hell. Everyone wonts to see a reciept for the motor in the car thats why I would like something to go with the car
The shortblock is the one you had for months on gnttype.org an you didn't even have it out of the car when I came for it. It was still resting in the chassis of the car you were parting. I don't know how to explain which one it is. You had yourfather drive you over to the garage before you moved a few blocks over.Maybe you should have kept your word an sent me the reciept when I bought it!
Since I've been back I've left you my cell number an guess what? NO CALL BACK??? So I ask WHY???? Guess I should have know better! Mike

Looks to me like someone has their panties up in a bunch here... from my experience Bob is a good guy and when you part out as many cars as he does its easy to imagine why he cant remember which car an engine came out of, especially when he probably pulled out 100 more since yours.

To the average layman here is how it looks... you couldnt reach him by phone and still havent described the car. If it was sitting in the engine bay still in the parts car when you went over you know what color/year it was then right? If you remember who brought him to the garage you must know the approximate date you went?

You complained you couldnt find him, he posted, and you keep whining and try to bash him instead of giving the info needed to fix the problem. Seems to me like you must not really want this receipt that badly afterall. If you do... then quit your b**ching and tell the man what he needs to know to try and find it. He's stated probably 10x over to email and not call.....

First of all , if I said I would send them within a week then they were sent. Second of all why did you wait years to tell me you didnt receive them? If they were important to you, you would have contacted me long ago if you hadnt received them. You did not call me years ago. Its not my fault you can't sell your car. Which you clearly stated. And that you are being sent back to Iraq. Why take all that out on me. I am a very patient person. I have offered to look and see if I still have the receipts, but you refuse to cooperate, why? You slander me and expect me to help you?

I've asked you to e mail me your name and your basic information etc. and the approximate date you purchased the short block, to help me narrow down what engine is yours, but you refuse to do this. why?

As I posted above "Ive posted many times at the end of my parts list that I "rarely" make it to the phone and that I rarely check my voice mail. To just keep trying. " And if you were in Iraq all that time how could I have called you?

Let me point out something to you, I DON'T have to help you. I am only doing this because I have sympathy for your situation. I think most guys would have told you to get lost by now. But I'm still trying to help you. E mail the information I've asked for.

84c10 I appreciate your feed back , but lets just keep this between Mike and myself.

I88's

I have bought off I88's many of times. Always great service. This last time I needed an expensive part that is hard to get & he was very ill. The pm I sent took about 2 or 3 weeks to be replied too. He did return my pm & gave me a good deal. A couple years ago I needed rods for my new engine project & they showed up as stated in very good shape as if they were bead blasted. Very good prices too. Some of the vendors on here are super busy. I see this with others. They get 40 calls a day along with work they have to get done & someone calls them, but wont leave a message if the vendor is out to lunch or whatever. Then they go on a board & post up negative info. Just stating what I have seen as a trend lately. :frown: Our cars are only getting older & we have less & less sources so lets take some time to breath deeply & stay calm to resolve things. The vendors are not majical creatures in outer space that exist only to serve us. They are human beings with everyday life problems as do the rest of us. If the person ignores you & doesnt make any efforts to resolve things then let it be known.

Mike its been 4 days and I still have not received an e mail with your info. This is exactly what has happened every time I've replied to you. I reply and you never get back to me. I'm still willing to help you.

Thanks Wes 87 Turbo T , its guys like you that make this web site the best.

Motor

Well sorry but I've been training up. No I'm not having a hard time selling the car just answering questions aboat cam specs etc.
This is the first time you've ever gotton back with me thats why I had to go here! I will be back home monday an I will get the date off the reciept you gave me.
84c10 I've gave him the color an numeruse calls every chance I get!
Guess this is just the price I pay for your FREEDOM!!!
Mike

I said I will try to help you, just e mail me some info, so I can determine which engine was yours. You've never told me the color of anything. I don't even know who you are. All I know about your engine is that its .030 over , and your first name is Mike nothing more. What color was the car?

You've made posts on this web site many times, every single month since March of 2005 , so you could have contacted me at any time on this web site since then and I would have helped you in any way I could. I've made it more then clear that I don't get to the phone or voice mail often. My phone rings constantly and my voice mail fills very quickly, there is not enough time in a day for me to call everyone back and answer every call. Everyone seems to think they are the only person who calls me. Thats why I've posted that e mail is best way to contact me and the quickest. I've answered every e mail from you that I was aware of. Prior to the last month or 2 , you've never attempted to contact me. Not several times never.

I'm sorry if I seem to be getting upset, but this is crazy. Just give me some information to work with. And I will give you any information on your engine I have. Its that simple. I'm getting the feeling that you don't remember a thing about the car it came out of or any other detail about the engine. And that's ok. I've got it narrowed down somewhat already. But the time frame would really help.

The only reason I pointed out how you didnt get back to me in this post is because you've done this every time I've responded to you, and I don't think you realise this. Why don't we just try to work together on this, and stop the insults.

info

Bob here's what I know.
the car was a 83 or 84 race car. 11 seconds you said,no heat was in the car rubber fuel line.
it was in what you refered to as your old shop on the right front.
it was silver or light blue? the lighting wasn't that good alls we had was a droplight.
your father brought you over to your garage.
I had a blue dodge quadcab with my wife an new bore twins.
on our way out there was a GN with pink stripes you said was one of the cars of the month on gnttype.org
I pretty sure it was $1200 for th shortblock.
You told me you had a ton of calls but I was the first one to get there.
I will get you he date Monday.Mike

The car was the same color as "Tweaked" sort of a greenish blue(Turquoise). It was an 81 Regal that had been made a race car. Give me a day or 2 and I will look thru my old files for the receipts for that car. Thats all I needed.

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is the short block was built by Dynotech, the cam was installed by Ran-kin Automotive . And the cam was a Ruggles cam. The guy who had the short block built was Scott Tomasini . I bought the car from him just before he moved to FL.

The bad news is I did send the receipts for the short block to you.

You maybe able to get copys of the receipts from the businesses that did the work. Eric Rankin is a member of this web site and maybe able to give you the details on the cam that was installed.
